Mark Bicknell Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 Trying to find out where this is from? has to be very hard to find on Grant Records, came out of course in the States on Mica, top tune and hard enough to find a clean copy on the well known lable but where is Grant records from? I suspect it's from Europe or maybe the Far East? any help or imformation on this one would be most helpful. Regards - Mark Bicknell.

Jimmy Dobbins name is on the record as a writer also, I think, and he had a record on a chicago label also. Who were ray and dave?

The flip is 'Six Lonely Nights' tend to agree with you regarding it possibly being a foreign boot, there is no ident or numbers in the deadwax nothing, sound quality is spot on as Mica USA original, very odd this lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.

Very possible but I bet Ray And Dave had no knowledge their record came out in Holland lol or that it became a popular tune in soul clubs around the world, like I said weird this record collecting lark. I'd say that would be the case if I had to guess. i've come across a few myself.

Hi Mark, it's true it comes from Holland, I had it 10 years ago from a dutch guy and I sold it £50 at this time... Few records came out on this label, I still have "Jackie Payne - No puppy love" I'll send a picture if you want (& I think I had "Go go train" on the same label, but I sold it too)...it's a strange label but I think it came out at the end of 60's - early 70's...or it's a reissue label for the Belgium popcorn scene?...I don't know! I never saw picture sleeves from this label Regards Romain
