just listened to a tape of him at the casino from 1980 and wondered whatever appened to him? last time i saw him was mid 80's .... selling ladders for Stephens & Carter, (he came into a builders merchant i was working in at the time), i recognised him straight away, spoke briefly about his Brit/palais days etc but he kind of avoided the subject. im assuming he has no part in the northern scene nowadays.

anyone know?

Unfortunatley he has left it all behind now. Shame, that guy had an ear for kick ass 60s stormers.

I believe a few guys on here still see him regularly at Man Utd games.

Is he still married to the gorgeous Julie? :D

I bumped into Gary and Julie at a Leicester Oddfellows Revival a few years ago - Gary was always a big influence on me and it was great to see him again....I offered to copy some old Wigan/Palais tapes with him Djing....got the job done, sent a nice stash to the address he gave me - then heard from his brother (I think) that they (he and Julie) had split the same time I sent them off....I always wondered if he ever received them!

Gary's sets upstairs at Stafford were always a great way to start a night there. Whenever I hear 'Rex Garvin', Little Stanley, Bud Harper, Gary Sole or the Creations, they catapult me back to those halcyon days...even if the sound was always distorted in that room!
