pete,

Maybe helps - I don 't hold 100% faith in Goldmine's R & B value guide but 2002 edition rated it at $100 NM.

Suppose you could double that in 2009 .

Never seen one when searching popsike or collectors frenzy - only the uk issues.

saw a clean one about 5 years ago it sold about $800. i've only seen one or two others since but cant recall the prices. mine is a used stock copy so it probably did get a small pressing. probably not as rare as some.

Pete, my mate won the copy off John Manship (he's a motown collector not a Northern collector)

Well he was over the moon with the price off JM - reckons it was a bargain !!!! As copys have known to change hands for 4 figures on the motown collectors scene according to him.

He was absolutley stunned that he got it so cheap !

Motown anoracks regularly disscuss weather this 45 got withdrawn from being issued at the initial pressing stage in the usa.

Is that why it is a real rare USA motown piece ??????????????

Funny how they gave it a proper release over here !

Who knows, but it is shit rare on a USA 45 innit!

And good look with the sale Pete !

We've had two copies of this 45 in the last 10 years. The first was sold to a Detroit collector renowned for having the world's finest Detroit collection for over £1000 in 1999.

The one we auctioned in 2008 a Mint - vinyl but writing on the label, went for £614 so the guy was very pleased with the price he snagged it for.

But there's no mention of condition? Does it have a drill hole? Label condition? without a BB hole it is much more desirable.

One went recently thru ebay for very little money...haven`t saved it though but it was definitely too cheap...says a man who still needs this copy...
