s7oul Posted June 11, 2005 Posted June 11, 2005 Going out to all those staring at a computer screen and not 'Gittin' Down' @ Cleethorphes NOW. Are you jealous 'cause you are not there for whatever reason (Me = due to young family/huge mortgage/justifying getting away for 3 days/ recovering rates - No excuses really), or are you content in being the 'Armchair Collector' Something I have come to terms with in the last few years. Having experienced 5 Cleethorphes Weekenders and at the last count 40 Soul weekenders in my 38 years on this earth in some respect I feel out of touch, however my love for this music will never leave me; that I am sure of. Just wondered how others felt about this. Patrick

Patrick link Hi Patrick I'm stuck at home too - young family/bank manager who hates me at the moment due to too much going out already this year/nanny who is away for the weekend so I've no sitter. Was a bit miffed I was missing it but there's always next year and a lot more events this year that I may be able to squeeze in Had a good night watching Peacekeepers with lurvely George Clooney and then Lock Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels - what a laugh Chin up

Patrick link I know where you are coming from on this one Patrick, we never missed a Cleethorpes weekender for the first few years, circumstances change you miss a couple of years and then before you know it several years have passed and you find yourself sitting infront of the television instead of being where you heart really should be. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
s7oul Posted June 11, 2005 Author Posted June 11, 2005 Mandy/ Mark (Didn't expect you to be sitting @ home - I was the Cokney w*****r that you used to pester you for Reggie Alexander everytime you played down South) Glad I'm not the only one then. I'm not licking my wounds too much as eBay is a little free @ the mo, just won Major Lance - Without A Doubt for next to nothing Thanks for the reply Pat

Patrick link Hi Patrick Never been to Cleethorpes but went to most of the early Southport weekenders decided a few years ago to stop them for much the same reasons as yourself. Missed them at first but not that bothered now. I'm sure i'll end up bidding for a few more records than usual on e-bay. Btw are you Pat Biggerstaff ? cheers Derek (Jack)
