Agent45
Just got a reply back from the seller. I dont know anything about bootlegs! It has these matrix numbers: 45 - f - 761 then a stamp that looks like 'IVR' or 'MR' then 4103576. The labels are glossy/shiny, perfectly centred, and the printed text is indented like professional printing. Whats styrene???? Weird thing is that I never even mentioned styrene in my message to him. SteveM
So you didn't get the £100 then Steve ? You know me too well. Seriously, I'm not sure of threads like this. Obviously Pete is right that its a boot and the guys building it up into something it isn't, and could easily convince some innocent buyer that it is an original due to his blurb, AND as a large scale dealer should know better, but why not challenge him/report him to ebay for selling a boot as an original (rather than selling a boot per se, which happens all the time, usually described as second presses or reissues ) yourself, rather than rounding up a lynching party on here. Which, in this case has attracted a Pierpoint who, although an amiable bloke, has joined in the witchhunt as if he's one of the knowledgable in crowd, when a box of boots, Goldmines etc etc shows otherwise. Thats the problem with threads like this, not the comments from people who know the difference. In another time and place, the bidder would be described as the idiot, caveat emptor etc etc but as the seller is one of "us" he's fair game for ridicule on here. And no, I'm not pissed Link to comment Social source share
