Jim Elliott Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 Being a Crewe (Shavington) lad, (latterley Northampton and then Kent) I 've always wondered about 'UTJ'S' origins, as I was only about 3 when it was going .All the other clubs get the limelight but I've always been curious about this little place on South St.No one really has ever really mentioned it in detail, Who ran it? What was played? How long did it last? (About 12 months?) etc etc.Would be nice to think my home town had some soul oomph ThanxJim

Jim Elliott Posted May 18, 2009 Author Posted May 18, 2009 Daft this, but we were living about a mile away at the time and it's always been a constant annoyance to me I missed out! !! (As I was a bairn) told you it was daft. It has tho', always been fascinating to me this place (it's a snooker club now) great to see those photos and flyers on t'other thread. Perhaps a UTJ reunion opinion should be floated? I've always had a pervish interest in the lesser mentioned but equally important venues. Regards Jim
