Pete S Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 (edited) RARITIES LIST PART TWO PETE SMITH 28 JENKS ROAD WOMBOURNE WOLVERHAMPTON WV5 0BL 01902 893569 Pete.smith@freeuk.com I HOPE YOU ENJOY READING THIS LITTLE LOT, IT'S A TERRIFIC COLLECTION. A LOT OF THESE RECORDS ARE DESCRIBED AS HAVING MARKS BUT A LOT OF THAT IS DUE TO SLEEVE REMOVAL BY THE LOOK OF IT, I.E. REMOVING THE RECORDS FROM CARDBOARD SLEEVES NUMEROUS TIMES. I HAVE GRADED THESE VERY CAREFULLY AND EXTREMELY HONESTLY, AND THEY ARE ALL GRADED ACCORDING TO BOTH PLAY GRADE AND VISUALLY - SO IF A RECORD LOOKS LIKE IT'S WELL WORN BUT PLAYS MINT - I CAN'T GRADE IT AS MINT, SO PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTIONS CAREFULLY. I WOULD HONESTLY PREFER PAYMENT BY BANK TRANSFER WITH THESE AS I DON'T REALLY WANT TO PUT THEM THROUGH ON MY CREDIT CARD MACHINE DUE TO THE PERCENTAGE THAT THEY TAKE OFF ME, BUT WILL DO IF THERE'S NO OTHER WAY. AGAIN, I WILL TAKE PAYPAL BUT THE FEES WILL HAVE TO GO ON TOP, SORRY. POSTAGE IS FREE OVER £100. UNDER £100 IT'S £1.80 RECORDED OR £5.50 SPECIAL. THE AD LIBS - THINK OF ME - KAREN DEMO EX 60 This looks mint but like 99% of copies there's some background noise in one channel IRMA & THE LARKS - WITHOUT YOU BABY - PRIORITY M- 125 MARIE KNIGHT - YOU LIE SO WELL - MUSICOR DEMO EX 150 RUBY LEE - I BELIEVE IN YOU - POPTONE M- 25 BETTY LLOYD - I'M CATCHING ON - BSC EX 350 SOLD LITTLE ANTHONY & THE IMPERIALS - BETTER USE YOUR HEAD - VEEP EX 50 Octagonal label, comes with picture sleeve (sleeve has wear) CHARLIE McCOY - MY BABY'S BACK AGAIN - MONUMENT M- 250 Stunning issue THE M-M & THE PEANUTS - THE PHILLIE - MONEY VG++ 25 Initials on label GENE McDANIELS - WALK WITH A WINNER - LIBERTY DEMO EX- 80 THE MERGING TRAFFIC - AIN'T NO NEED - MY RECORDS EX 200 THE MAGNIFICENTS - MY HEART IS CALLING - DEE GEE DEMO VG++ 100 JOE MURPHY - IT'S A WEAKNESS - VIVID M- 40 THE MAJESTICS - (I LOVE HER SO MUCH) IT HURTS ME - LINDA DEMO M- 400 Stunning copy THE MATADORS - SAY YES BABY - CHAVIS EX+ 500 SOLD THE NATURAL FOUR - I THOUGHT YOU WERE MINE - ABC DEMO EX 250 THE NEW SILHOUETTES - WE BELONG TOGETHER - JAMIE DEMO VG+ 30 THE NEPTUNES - THAT'S AN AWFUL THING TO SAY - GEM DEMO M- 125 OSCAR PERRY - I GOT WHAT YOU NEED - PERI-TONE EX- 40 SOLD Plays great but has 3 marks OSCAR PERRY - MAIN STRING - PERI-TONE EX 40 Small sticker tear on label BOBBY PARIS - NIGHT OWL - CAMEO DEMO EX 125 NOLAN PORTER - IF I COULD ONLY BE SURE - ABC DEMO EX 40 SOLD Has a little edge warp which plays through with no sound deterioration, otherwise mint THE PRECISIONS - IF THIS IS LOVE - DREW M- 20 SOLD SANDRA PHILLIPS - YOU SUCCEEDED - BROADWAY EX 40 Silver label, lovely RAY PAIGE - AIN'T NO SOUL - RCA DEMO VG 30 Scruffy, name on label DEAN PARRISH - BRICKS BROKEN BOTTLES AND STICKS - MUSICOR VG 100 Looks battered, again, looks can be deceiving, apart from some crackle at the start it's fine THE ROYAL ESQUIRES - AIN'T GONNA RUN - PRIX M 125 Blue label LOU RAGLAND - SINCE YOU SAID YOU'D BE MINE - WARNER BROS ISSUE M 175 I didn't actually know this existed as a stock copy - super-rare and in beautiful condition ROBIN RICE - I'VE HAD IT - METRO INTERNATIONAL EX 125 First label and better mix ROBIN RICE - I'VE HAD IT - CRACKERJACK ISSUE VG++ 35 RUBIN - YOU'VE BEEN AWAY - KAPP DEMO EX+ 300 THE SERVICEMEN - CONNIE / SWEET MAGIC - CHARTMAKER EX 850 SOLD Ultra-rare original, has some writing underneath the artist credit ("Luke APB Arizona 1966") in biro, otherwise faultless THE SERVICEMEN - I NEED A HELPING HAND - PATHEWAY EX+ 130 Plain orange label, styrene original BETTYE SWANN - KISS MY LOVE GOODBYE - ATLANTIC EX+ 75 SOLD BETTYE SWANN - THE MAN WHO SAID NO - MONEY VG 25 Great track, bit scruffy with some light clicking in the middle but no real problems and fine for djing THE SUPERIORS - WHAT WOULD I DO - VERVE VG++ 30 Tough black label issue THE SHUFFLERS - ALWAYS BE MINE - CRACKERJACK EX 250 BOBBY SHEEN - SOMETHING NEW TO DO - WARNER BROS EX 60 SOLD BOBBIE SMITH - WALK ON INTO MY HEART - AMERICAN ARTS DEMO EX 100 White label, red lettering THE SHOWMEN - TAKE IT BABY - BB M- 25 MOSES SMITH - THE GIRL ACROSS THE STREET - DIONN DEMO M- 250 SOLD Stunning white demo - takes your breath away THE SUPERLATIVES - I STILL LOVE YOU - UPTITE EX 75 Yellow label THE SEVEN SOULS - I STILL LOVE YOU - FRENCH EPIC EX 350 With picture sleeve, also in EX condition THE SWEETHEARTS - BEAUTY IS JUST SKIN DEEP - KENT EX 135 SOLD MARVIN L. It's only flaw that it has a darker part where a sticker has been successfully removed across the VIP logo but it's definitely the nicest one of these that I've ever seen BABY WASHINGTON - LEAVE ME ALONE - SUE M- 60 Rare West Coast press SUZY WALLIS - TELL HIM - RCA DEMO M- 30 THE WORLD COLUMN - SO IS THE SUN - TOWER EX 35 SOLD Absolute classic Edited May 14, 2009 by Pete S
Supercorsa Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Looking at this list, I wished I'd took the cash on offer at work for voluntary redundancy! Pete do you do higher purchase terms?
