Weren't they just the same as normal Capitol black label issues (the only difference being the printing of "Discotheque '66 Series" or "Discotheque '67 Series" on the label itself)?

Of course, they'd all have the "Sold In UK Subject to Resale Price Conditions" legend printed on them.

Problem is though, there's a distinct probability that the "Sold In UK Subject to Resale Price Conditions" will not line up with the title on the label below because the prong slots will probably be some degrees off, if you see what I mean?

Good point Denbo. Even if one side aligns correctly, it doesn't always mean to say that the other side will, so there's that to be cautious about.

Yeah, because it makes it obvious that a centre has been glued in.

Having said that, that's preferable to not having a centre at all.

Plus, one more thing. Even after you've got the new centre glued in, there's always the chance that the record will then rotate slightly off-centre. :rolleyes:

You have to do all this on a turntable first before allowing the glued to harden.

If truth be told, I'd rather have a dinked record than one with a transplanted centre. With the couple that I have had, the job had been done so badly that the prongs shone of Super Glue. One centre actually fell out after it had been in my DJ box for a few months.

Know what you mean BUT all the ones I've got, and there's only a handful out of thousands, I did them all myself, before the days of Super Glue, and they're all spot on, except of course the lining up of the "Sold In UK Subject to Resale Price Conditions" with the title. Pretty close mind but not perfect.

Sounds like they've obvoiusly held firmly as well, and Super Glue probably isn't the best option.

It did cross my mind about the lining up bit :rolleyes:

looking at my Alexander Patton issue the 4 prongs are,

1, the top one is right on the S of USA Recordings.

2, Right side one is just below the F of the record No.

3, Bottom one is above the H in discotHeque 66

4, left hand one is above the Brujem word.

anal or what :lol::thumbup:

Cheers, Ian.
