Guest Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Hott Ice "Dance Freaks" on Blue Wave Strivers Show Band "Let's Go Party" on Strivers. TaHello, Ewan, hottIce is better know for the Search For Tomorrow side a crackly copy just went over $1000 on ebay seems the harder or the two issues, but sounds more demo like than Chain Reaction which is more easier tof ind. Vocally Chain Reaction is stronger imo (and a few others who heard it ) Is it very much different from the 12? Strivers Show Band shows up now and then ask the dude who also had the hott ice on ebay cos he has probably got more!! hows you milliondollardisco nights going? not been to any for absolutely ages!

Vocally Chain Reaction is stronger imo (and a few others who heard it ) As far as I can hear, the Hott Ice and Chain Reaction releases of "Search For Tomorrow" on BLUE WAVE are the exact same recordings. The "Dance Freaks" side of the Hott Ice 45 was also recorded by Chain Reaction in a very different (and in my opinion superior) version as "Dance Freak" on a 12" on the SOUND OF NEW YORK CITY, USA label.

Sebastian Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 hmmm maybe its my computer listend again an they do sound the same I just did an A/B comparison and made a file with the Hott Ice track in the left speaker and the Chain Reaction track in the right speaker and made them start at the same time. They sound exactly the same.
Guest James Trouble Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I think I have a Strivers Show Band somewhere. I'll have a fish about tonight, it's £100 if I can find it, if that's any use to you?

Bagasulph Posted May 13, 2009 Author Posted May 13, 2009 I didn't realise the Hott Ice was so well known.. Just heard it recently. I have the Chain Reaction 12", and thought this was a nice alternative version. But maybe not at a grand! I'll stick with the 12.
Bagasulph Posted May 13, 2009 Author Posted May 13, 2009 hows you milliondollardisco nights going? not been to any for absolutely ages! We just had Dimitri last week - almost 500 through the door... official capacity 400

I think best reason to buy the Chain Reaction version is the other side "Say Yeah", killer boogie funk, better than Dance Freaks in my very honest opinion.
