That was Floyd Jones, producer of 'Burn up some road to my baby' on De-To records. Earnest started his career working in New York's 'Tin Pan Alley' ending up with Atlantic records before being head hunted by Motown to help with album sales in the late 60's. He had his first million seller with The Cashmeres on a late 50's doo wop tune. He is still living in Detroit today, but has been in poor health of late, suffering from the big C. Top tune all the same Dave Edited May 10, 2009 by Dave Thorley

Anway he is one of "Soul's Heroes" not least for his promotional work with Dee Edwards and Betty Bibbs, Cleo Martin, and as you rightfully say, top tune..

Ernie was a big supporter of Dee for many years, but Floyd was always her manager, even after they got divorced. Your right along with Popcorn he was one of the last of the great Detroit independants.
