In the mid 70s a disco group called Tony Camillos Bazuka were recording. They had a "hit" with Dynamite. Tony arranged the Epitome of Sound 45.

Could be a link there Su?

The Soul Harmony Singles book lists them as "blue eyed" but I know the lead singer was black ('cos I've seen a record company promotional photo) rest of the band white.

Only the one 45 listed (released July '67)

I don't think Bazuka existed did they? Just session guys I would have thought. Anyway if you assume that they might be the Epitome of Sound just because of the Camillo connection, it also means that EOS were Gladys Knight and the Pips!

The Bazuka album with Dynomite had the Brecker Brothers on it I think.

That's why I thought it was all session geezers - not suggesting that they weren't actual people and that Camillo just made 'em up biggrin.gif

Mind you I have a Pinky and Perky LP. Guess they existed too then?

As the UK owner of the master 'You Don't Love Me' I can tell you a few things about this beautiful Double sider.

Firstly, the group led by Bob Paladino were a Italian group from New Jersey.

Both sides were cut in 1968 according to Tony Camillo who I spoke to at length just before SoultripUSA, 2006.

I am yet to obtain a publicity shot, but Tony remarked that it was 'just another session' and another fantastic chapter in our beloved history.

As for Bob, I did get a lead but it came to nothing. A member of Vito and the Salutations gave me a phone number only to get the 'the number you have dialled has been disconnected'

I had hoped the group would be the cream in the coffee for the travelling UK faithful to Soultrip, New Brunswick, NJ....sadly it wasn't.....however the Del-larks made up for it.

you already got a better answer, but tony camillo was a big producer that produced a lot of records, i doubt you could connect anything his name is on just because his name is on it. Check out:

he's not saying their records didn't exist, he's saying they didn't exist as a real group other than a studio entity. anyways, I thought their 45s and LP were on A&M
