Modernsoulsucks
Afternoon Rod, as you say must be a mistake. Still would love to see a full listing. How tricks with you Dave Well the sawing a woman in half went horribly wrong but it was the wife so it wasn't the end of the world. Well, for her, it was. Here's a link to Dave Flynn's listing https://capitolsoulclub.homestead.com/Detro...lsMARYJANE.html Obviously in regard to 1003,1009 and 1010 that throws up some talking points for those of us who don't have to go out shopping immediately. ROD So You have to go out shopping, see that's what happen when you try the old saw trick, otherwise you could of sent her out. Does look like they thought 'My darling baby' had a chance. Hope she will be well enough to do the cleaning at the weekend. Dave Link to comment Social source share

Now this is interesting Dave, Here's a scan of the B side of my Edward Hamilton And The Natural Looks-My darling baby -Mary Jane-P1010 It's "Willing Mind" but look at the number. It's P1111 A side is definately P1010 so some mistake at plant perhaps. Give me a few minutes to go and play it and I'll let you know what the song is. Cheers, John. Guest
"Yes I can" on mine too. Probably error in John's listing? Rod, No mistake I have a copy of Mary Jane 1010 on the shelves at the mo' with "Willing Mind" on the flip this was pressed @ ARCHER. Interestingly the # on the flip "WM" the label # is 1111 and the deadwax matrix reads 1112. what's the deadwax details on your flipside and label # on the flip label? On the subject of Edward Hamilton nobody has yet come up with the loan of the BDYWeep, coloured bootleg. So I'll up my offer to £50 credit just to borrow it for documentation. So if you have a coloured bootleg of "Baby Don't You Weep" could someone mail me a copy. Edited May 8, 2009 by john manship Link to comment Social source share

No interesting is if you were claiming to have been abducted by aliens. "Yes I can" is 1009 on other side of "Darling baby" 1010. With Flynny's listing and input from Jaco and Boba, Dave has now forced a complete re-evaluation of Mary Jane output which will teach him to be more careful in the future. I didn't know about Arabians [le Mans] on Lanrod either. ROD Link to comment Social source share

OK, played it through and the song is definately "Willing Mind". Checked all my other Mary Jane releases and they are all numbered ok except the B side of "Thank Your Mother" P1007 here's the scan: Number is P1008! The plot thickens....... Marc Forrest
Marc, Per R & B Indies which lists the Le Mans one as The Arabians only. Also the Staff track per R & B indies is The Arabians only. yes, both true but obviously both also do feat. Edward H on lead. Same goes for "Who`s In The Shack" which also only credits the Arabians. I fear its a typo with "Please Take A Chance" having been rel. on Lanrod as well. I will ask Bob though... Link to comment Social source share

All the releases feature Edward Hamilton on lead. For instance the Le Mans release was leased in by the owner of the label, without knowing who was the lead vocalist. Edward states that he wasn't aware of a number of his records coming out like the Le Mans 45, as they were leased by Lou Beatty to make extra money. I will agree It's possible but i still have some doubt since i've never seen it nor seen it listed in any other record guides. Anybody actually have or seen a copy on "Northern"?? I'd have to check back to see if i still have Johnny Fingers list when he advertised it for sale some years ago. Also if anyone has Ady Pierce's Detroit label auctions, to check those. I have it on tape from a friend of mine as being on Northern also, who has done a lot of research on early Detroit recordings. A lot of his label info comes via Richard Pack of Canada, who has extensive label info i've been told. Martyn Link to comment Social source share
