Sean Hampsey Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 What are they worth? About £25 each, I'd say. Sean
pikeys dog Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Only of value to a Grapevine completist... now if they had tracks that never made 45 they would be much more interesting.
Baz Atkinson Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 (edited) Only of value to a Grapevine completist... now if they had tracks that never made 45 they would be much more interesting. I AGREE WOULD OF BEEN SLIGHTLY MORE INTERESTING IF RICHARD HAD GOT JOY DIVISION TO DO A VERSION OF KEEP ON KEEPING ON AS TOLD IN THE RECENT DOCU FILM BY RICHARD HIMSELF!!! Gary Samways Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Only of value to a Grapevine completist... now if they had tracks that never made 45 they would be much more interesting. i know i've mentioned this on another thread but during the late 70's neil donkin was a guy i used to know quite well and he had a few grapevine acetates that richard had lent him, i'm sure one was E.j. chandler (pipped at the post by destiny!) and i think the other side was sam's nightime shadows instr c/u, can anyone verify this? or did i dream it?
Mal C Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 I think these look well cool, and I'd say they are very collectable... Mal
Pete S Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 They're really nice but I doubt if Richard actually played them at Wigan, he had the original records, they were more likely for him to use as promos
Guest melandthensome Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Amate of mine has all the acetates plus the acetate albums.......
kevinsoulman Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 i wonder if GRP137 was on acetate, ronnie and robyn was the release that never was kev
dthedrug Posted May 7, 2009 Author Posted May 7, 2009 A BIG THANKS TO ALL I have had 8 members contact me about them. as I have said I rarely sell anything these days with a few exceptions to keen UK collectors only, I do have doubles of stuff, but more commen is that in some cases its a DEMO & A STOCK COPY, THESE RCA RECORDS WERE GIVEN TO ME BY A VERY GOOD FREIND AND AS SUCH CONSTITUTE A PART OF MY WIGAN STUFF, NOT AS PART OF MY RECORD COLLECTION HOWEVER if you do collect rare UK records as well as US, I Strongly suggest you contact :- MJ Records over the years I have been collecting they have always aimed to please at good prices or speak to Mick Smith the next time you see him, FORGET THE REST MJ RECORDS ARE THE BEST :- Tell him Dave Kilworth says so as I have bought records from Mick for 38 years now, Jesus Christ nearly 40 years of rare soul nice nice nice DAVE KIL
