Mark S Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 By Fats Domino is one of my alltime favorite sounds I first heard it at the Casino , such an unusual sound I wondered why it was played and was it played at other venues the Wheel etc , thanks
Ste Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 Played at Olde English at Matlock Bath, where i first heard it, early 80's steve ................................................ Remember it getting played at Wigan and l also think it was an unusual choice Think it was released bout 61 so may have got played at earlier venues. Think it always got played at the end of the night.......although l could be wrong!!
dthedrug Posted May 5, 2009 Posted May 5, 2009 As so many years have past I am sure it was played at the end of the night at the Torch or was it the first record? no that will come to me it was at the end However if you see a London demo DAVE says buy buy buy as it is a very rare record DAVE KIL

Guest Johnny Mack Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 This was an old Twisted Wheel play. Originally released in the UK on London, and later on Liberty. A classic from the real early days of the scene. Not everyone's cup of tea but I think its great. For some odd reason I always think of Gerry and the Pacemakers 'You'll never walk alone' whenever anyone mentions or plays this record - dont ask me why - there's obviously a deep rooted significance somewhere in my grey matter - maybe I need psycho-analysis to get to the bottom of it Take care, John.
Mark S Posted May 6, 2009 Author Posted May 6, 2009 Cheers Guys I bought a Fats LP about 25 years ago with it on love that New Orleans sound got me into Lee Dorsey and Alan Tousant makes a nice change .
Guest miff Posted May 6, 2009 Posted May 6, 2009 Always think of Bub when I hear this, he always played it at the All dayers at the Winter Gardens this just sums up that time and place in one go.Still love the record to this day

" IKR " was played at the David's ( Bub ) Funeral , when we left the church . A very atmospheric record , which like you say Miff , sums up a time and a place . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNb-dEb6yNM Malc Burton Edited May 6, 2009 by Malc Burton
