Ernie Andrews Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Is it morally acceptable to make money out of fellow Sourcers for P&P. I recently got a record from someone on here who charged me £1.50 for P&P (I know its not much but this one is a question of principle) The record came just between 2 flimsy pieces of cardboard and had a large envelope stamp on it (47p) or has recently gone up a bit. No proper record mailer and not recorded delivery which is what I usually do for £1.50 P&P I know its a done thing on ebay but is it morally right to do to fellow sourcers?
Epic Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 On the flip side of the coin I posted a record to somebody on Friday afternoon - recorded, insured etc. It was £5.40 just for postage yet I have charged a fiver - it's a swings & roundabouts thing - would like to think that nobody genuinely tries to rip people off - or is that me being naive ?

Dont forget to account for petrol to get to the post office or in my case shoe leather
Little-stevie Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I think 1.50 is fine for package and a trip to the post office/ post box.. Its 74p for postage uk and 76p to wrap it up and take it to the post office... I am a buyer and not really a seller and don't mind at all, would want some discount though if i bought multiples from the same person..
John Elias Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 been dealing on ebay and on here for a few years send out in cruciform mailers, new or ex condition £2.00 for 1st class recorded upto £32 insured and £4.00 spec delivery and I am losing on this but I think it's good customer service

Guest DELORENZO Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I'm forever losing money on postage, living in France, (and with the current exchange rate) I charge £3-60 for Priority letter post, it actually costs me 4, so by the time I take for the materials etc, and driving 8 miles to the post office, I am at a loss
pikeys dog Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 I include p&p / paypal fees in the price of anything I sell on here - there's no argument then.
kevinsoulman Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 less than 100 gramms 1st class is now 61p invariably well packaged is over that which takes it to the up to 250 gramms level which is now 90p, plus the mailer which dealers might get cheaper on quantity but ordinary joe doesn't,£1.50 seems the average reasonable price. kev

I cuurently charge a quid for a brand new mailer, 3 pieces of cardbaord, and sent first class. 1.50 is too much.
