I never heard it at Wigan, in fact I've never heard it played anywhere, but like I said above, known it for 32 years or so. Pete--it was defo played at Wigan--it was championed by Dave McCadden and Siz(rip) around about 1978 at the same time as Helen Shapiro(Stop) etc.--a record heard a lot round Manchester mid week venues as well as in the main room at Station Rd. a few times.I loved it at the time(not now tho!!) i eventually got a demo and that copy now resides with Chris Holmes in York--i sold him it for £50 IN 1990 and would rate it about a ton now--a very rare U.K.item. And that is why it is a very rare 60s collectors piece ! A real nice rare and forgotton British Northern Soul 45 !
