Elvin Spencer on Winner came first.

Elvin Spencer on Twinight came second.

Chosen Few on Bandit & Chosen Few next.

Finally, Elvin Spencer on E S Cozy.

Great tune in any event

this information is 100% correct. Also, the winner version is different than all the other versions, all the other versions are the same recording. The chosen few also repressed their soul beat 45 on their chosen few label.

Bob, have you ever thought of writing a book on Chicago Soul , one that goes into even greater detail and depth than Robert Pruter's excellent work ?

The Winner cut being far superior imho, much like the first Willie Tee on blue Gatur.

The flip of the Twinight and Chosen Few cut is another great ballad titled "You're Being Unfair" / "You Been Unfair" respectively.

Love all four sides personally. Both versions of Lift This Hurt are essential Chicago soul with blistering vocals from Elvin.
