What happened to the b-side

Presumably whoever's bootlegged it couldn't find an .mp3 of the flip to download off the net...

Is it the Soul Sam play with the horrible Van Halenesque guitar solo?

If so, I presume "edit" means that some enterprising chimp has cut it out.

I think a few have done that , my mate said he had the edit off Limewire

I wonder where they licensed it from ... the only copy in the UK has a scratched out label adress

Doubt it is licensed, probably lifted from an MP3 and cleaned up  ......I know someone had been trying to put it out for ages and really wanted the b side.

Poke had a copy back in the 80's - it played fine but there was a crack on the run in. It almost certainly came from Soul Bowl, and JA always used to scratch the adress off, is that the only one then?

Best,

No crack on the run in Rich.....it's in pretty good shape really despite the number of hands it has passed through and the hammering it has received over the years  It still grades conservatively as an "E" with no sound deterioration.....

John only ever had the one, and there is one in Germany that I know of (member is on here).

No but they didn't ask me for the A side either........I know of two DJs who have played this off of a carver that they've copied from an MP3....I am sure this is booted off of an MP3.

Thanks for the sound file Seb, I hope you're not in trouble for posting it.

Can't see why I should be in trouble?

Anyone that would've put the following into a google search would've found that MP3:

"King Moses" "I Forgot To Say (I Love You)"

It's available from a public server.

Why would you be in trouble? The botleggers missed it, and they put it out already without this side on.... .S

I spoke to Elizabeth Vanover a few years ago about this 45. Her late husband owned Pet Records.

She told me that she had no copies of the record, no master tapes and the little documentation she had left gave no clues as to the identity of King Moses.

She also said that she had done a licensing deal with a company "from London" who wanted to release it
