Marc Forrest Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 delites on hold masqueraders on hold,, cliff Blimey Cliff, the Tommy Bush seems to be a bargain..almost what I paid for it ten years ago LOL ! Seem to remember the one that Manship auctioned two years ago made sth like 1300 UKP ? Think Ginger is been playing it since then..

Ten years ago it was worth £125. Ten years before that it was worth £20. Now I'd say about what Cliff is selling it for or less. And yes, I do see it regularly.

Marc Forrest Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 And I am afraid you didn`t get what this thread or I am on about. Somebody is advertising a record and I am stating that compared with the last copy (manship) auctioned the copy in question seems to be a bargain (again in comparison). Nowhere in this thread anyone said that the CURRENT NEW PRICE TAG of this record IS or HAS TO BE 1300 UKP. Having said that the 45 in question has been receiving some sort of revival the last year so this will have added to the price anyway. I am not using manship or ebay as a gospel...in fact far from that. But I feel free enough to quote a price whenever I want. Marc

Marc I do get it, you said that 10 years ago the price was what it is now, and I was saying that it wasn't, that's all.
Iancsloft Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Cliff,s pretty clued up pricewise and his sales are usually on the cheapish side if he wants 450 for it he must be pretty sure its gonna sell 45,s are only worth what someones willing to pay if someone wants it they will pay 450. and if it doesnt sell at or around that price i dont think Cliff will be too bothered..

No ..almost what I paid for it ten years ago LOL ! is what I said..please notice the word "almost" and my "LOL". But anyway, the weather is brilliant, the shirts are tight and the skirts are short..so my mood is fantastic, we shoudln`t get spoiled by what is said in a sales thread anyway. Good price still IMO.

Guest Phil Richards Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Blimey i sold George Rouse one couple years for £100 mint Sold another last year £225 £1300 must have won the rollover on the loto This is what I'm saying. Where do people get these crazy prices from? It's a long time ago but you could buy this at Wigan for £8 any time you wanted, now some will say yes but you could buy anything back then, and you could usually, but a lot of people still have this in their collections, I remember it being in Phil Richards box when I looked at his records back in 2000 or 1999 and he couldn't believe it when I told him it was worth over £100. Just because John Manship has more than his fair share of nutters who buy records off him doesn't mean it's actually worth that. Too often you have people on here using Manship auction prices or Ebay prices as gospel, that is not how you value records I'm afraid. Pete had mine off Pep for £10.00 and i now there are lots of them about
