April 26, 200916 yr familytree said: with you on this one... sounds dredful!... all off key... doesnt cut it for me either...... all down to taste i guess?! I am quite surprised at so many people saying stuff like this. Nothing wrong with that. Like you say it's all down to taste. Or maybe you just had to be there. Anyway, I still think it's great!
April 26, 200916 yr I think Shifty put the feelers out in the States for a record that sounded like the begining of a Supremes track having a senior moment cause i cant think what it is. any way he got the call and got the next flight out Delarks c/u i mean  Edited April 29, 200916 yr by Tedsoul

Anyway, I still think it's great! yes i do think tunes like this have more impact if you relate it to good times/places etc. i have heard it out but it hasnt had an impact on me.... and as for listening to it on here... sounds dredful as far as 'cant sing'! im all for the raw, unpolished production sound of the era but it has to have a decent vocal.. the backing singers are all off key! whats to like?! . as in everything, thats just my opinion.. i respect yours x

Knowing a record is worth a bundle somehow makes the record sound that little bit better, no matter how bad it REALLY is. I'm afraid that is rubbish, I wish this was a 10 quid record, it would be in my box all day long regardless of value. Absolutely fantastic tune, puts the hairs on the back of my neck up.

I can only guess this sounds great out at Allnighters 'cos those bashin' the dance floor are out of their heads. I'll admit, an Allnighter atmosphere might give it that extra drive but I'm afraid, in the cold light of day, it just don't cut it, regardless how rare or valuable it might be. I'm with you mate - there are good reasons why some records never make it. That tune is weak.
April 29, 200916 yr Author It mioght be off key and all over the place but it somehow all works well. the high pitched backing lyrics are the best bit of it for me.
April 29, 200916 yr One of the true northern beautys that the mighty Butch brought to our attention. Absolute belter...stompin nothern at its best. Many memories of this down at Blackburn, Chesterfield and Mexboro. Butch played this, as Mark said circa 87 along side Mello Souls, Deligates of Soul, Diane Lewis " Aint Got a chance" and Mac Staten amongst others that he discovered, Lots of us were very lucky to be in attendance at that time. People were practically commitin murder to get on the dancefloor for his G Davis and R Tyler..."Part timer What Can I do" C/U(walter and Admerations) God bless Butch! And I know this because I was still living with me mam and dad First time I ever heard Butch DJ I wrote down in my little notebook: G Davis R Tyler, the Del Larks and the Just Brothers. I've still got the notebook somewhere. I Agree Joan baffles me why he doesnt still play the just brothers always one of the fetures of his set imo, great fond memories of this period also .
April 29, 200916 yr Isnt it ironic that all you non-dancers wouldnt know a brilliant dance record if it danced naked in front of you singing "Im a brilliant dance record!" They just do not come any better!
