Guest Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Strange - The tetragrammaton release of The Incredibles - 'Standing here crying' has 'All of a sudden' as the other side - what's the story with this - is it a re-issue?
Dylan Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 Toni Williams on Jet Set has exact same release number as a totally different record by another artist.
45cellar Posted April 24, 2009 Author Posted April 24, 2009 (edited) Strange - The tetragrammaton release of The Incredibles - 'Standing here crying' has 'All of a sudden' as the other side - what's the story with this - is it a re-issue? I Have Been Slowly Collecting The Audio Arts! Label Over The Years. Bought This Stock Copy A Few Months Back. I Can't Find It On Any Label Discography. I Have Tried To Find Out If This May Have Been The Intended B Side As The Delta Numbers Follow. Standing Here Crying & Lost Without You DELTA # 73868 & DELTA # 73869 >>> ANORAKS CORNER <<< Places It At October / November 1968 I Can Only Assume That It Was The Intended B Side. Anyone? I Know That Audio Arts! Did Use Sides More Than Once, Seems Strange For "All Of A Sudden" To Be On 60016 & 60017 Only A Guess But Wondering If "All Of A Sudden" Was A Last Minute Change Of B Side For 60017 The Tetragrammaton release of The Incredibles - "Standing Here Crying" was a Later release with "All Of A Sudden" as the flip. Yes, Some Companies Chose To Move To Another Number and Leave A Number Unissued, Sometimes Superstition RE: Number 13 (i.e. Ric-Tic) Others Simply Kept The Sequence Number & Changed Things Within It As You Mention. 45cellar Posted April 24, 2009 Author Posted April 24, 2009 (edited) I am Intrigued as to the reasons behind some of these releases. Possibly Long Forgotten Reasons Today, Pressing Plants Working on Manufacturing Instruction & Cost Involved. Were They. 11th Hour Changes, Mistakes, Repromotion or even Regional Taste These have all crossed my mind as I have tried to piece things together. Edited April 24, 2009 by 45cellar

45cellar Posted April 25, 2009 Author Posted April 25, 2009 b---er me i didn't know stevie wonder released one on ric tic kev Hi Kev Nice One Mate. Funny How Ric-Tic Chose Not To Release, 113 or 126 but Released 139 Always Told That the Number 13 Increment Considered Unlucky, so may be a Myth.

The number thirteen is considered unlucky because Judas was the thirteenth at the table at the last supper.
kevinsoulman Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 iv'e just had delivery of a few bill cosby's little ol man , warner bros 7072,most had hush hush on the b side one has don'cha know other wise exactly the same except hush hush has k15711 under the 7072 and the other k15712 kev
Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 There are two completely different recordings of Laura Lee's "Dirty Man" on Chess 2013, both c/w the same recording of "It's Mighty Hard". One was recorded in Chicago - the first issue - while the other was cut in Muscle Shoals a few weeks later (which is the version that also came out here and that's generally better known). There is a way to tell them apart, without playing every copy, but I'm buggered if I can remember what it is!

I'll Try To Find Out What The Visual Differences Are.
Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 (edited) Hi Tony Didn't Know There Were Two Versions Of This One. I'll Try To Find Out What The Visual Differences Are. ...I can scan the 'Chicago' version for you, Rog', but I 'only' have the 'Muscle Shoals' version on UK Chess Demo - which is great for me, but it's not a lot of help in a game of 'spot the difference'! As far as I'm aware, there's only one design of pressing of the 'Chicago' version, while the 'Muscle Shoals' one - which was a hit, of course - was pressed by numerous plants that were regularly used by Chess The 'Muscle Shoals' one is also available on the older black Chess label, as well as the two tone blue one. There's a slight difference in the matrix numbers - they're the same actual number, but the Muscle Shoals one has a 'C' after the number - to (presumably) designate that it's a remake... Best, TONY I'll dig the 'Chicago' out later on and post it up... Edited April 25, 2009 by TONY ROUNCE

Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 (edited) Hold the wedding on this one - I'm going to have to check a bit more thoroughly for 'distinguishing features' on each version and to do that I'll have to find someone who's got a 'Muscle Shoals' US Chess copy. I know there's a way to tell them apart without playing every single copy, but without having two of them in front of me I can't yet tell you what it is... Edited April 25, 2009 by TONY ROUNCE
Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Hold the wedding on this one - I'm going to have to check a bit more thoroughly for 'distinguishing features' on each version and to do that I'll have to find someone who's got a 'Muscle Shoals' US Chess copy. I know there's a way to tell them apart without playing every single copy, but without having two of them in front of me I can't yet tell you what it is... One very definite way to tell them apart is that the 'Chicago' version has no producer credits whatsoever on either side, whereas the 'Muscle Shoals' one has "Produced by Rick Hall' on the 'A' side and 'Produced by Davis, Caston' and 'Arranged by C. Stepney' on the flip. It was so bleedin' obvious that I don't know why I didn't spot it right away!!! I'll still post the 'Chicago' version up later on...
