Really like the flipside of that 45.

"Determination" just as popular as "...misunderstanding" in late 60's.

I think the questioner is maybe getting too wrapped up in the minutea of it all. As Pete says all are first pressings. In fact don't think I've seen this release on later design. If it is probably much scarcer than first run. No concrete explanation why issues pictured differ slightly other than as Pete says maybe different pressing plants, or East/West coast or slighty later runs which are the usual reasons.

As a rough guide some of the early Tamla and Gordy seem to have been put out again a lot later but designs are different so easy to tell.

As for which copy to keep I'd go for best condition copy.

We Are Currently Trying To Compile The Label Differences For Motown Related Labels At Hitsville.

As Pete Says The Ones You Show Are Simply Different Pressing Plants.

I am hoping to show the differences, ARP, "Nashville Matrix", Monarch, etc.

There are indeed some distinct differences in many Motown releases. In my experience it's the demos that have the main differences, in that they have completely different designs on the same record. Example: Just a Little Misunderstanding has three seperate and completely different designs on three demos from three different plants. I also find that the Styrene Monarch pressed demos are the best ones and feature the best label designs. Monarch seemed to use the full script logo for Gordy and the Map design for Motown much more than ARP or Nashville. For some strange reason these West Coast demos do seem to be harder to find than their counterparts.
