About The Event

If you were a young Mod back in those heady days of the 1960s - or maybe you just feel you missed out on a fab time - then this is definitely the night for you! DJs Joe Tucker (3 Keys Mod Weekender, Skegness): Steve Crawshaw (Cooper's Bar, Guiseley & Cross Keys, Knaresborough) plus Soul Brew's very own Marc Silverside will be spinning the vinyl to take us all back to our teenage years. They will be keeping that dance floor busy with a selection of Mod/Motown dancers, 60s club soul & R&B, with maybe a touch of ska & reggae thrown into the mix too!   If you have good memories of places such as Manchester's Twisted Wheel - Bradford's Hole in The Wall; String-o-Beads: Heartbeat; Pack Horse & Market Tavern - The Plebs, Vic Lounge & Upper George in Halifax - you really won't want to miss this one! Mod gear optional! :wink:

The Harold's got it all - a warm welcome & fab, friendly atmosphere; great sound system with request-friendly DJs - if they've got it with them, they'll play it for you!  There's a top-notch dance floor with absolutely no need at all for talc; bar prices at WMC rates; large car park & good transport links. It's situated on the main road, with easy access from Chain Bar Roundabout, regular busses from Bradford, Brighouse, Leeds & Huddersfield & it's also close to Low Moor train station. There's even a nice hotel (The Guide Post) less than 10 mins walk away for those who fancy making a weekend of it!                                               

We tend to limit numbers to 120 max in order to make sure everyone has a seat & also a space on a not-too-crowded dance floor, so please be early to avoid disappointment.

I'm SO looking forward to this - can't wait for DJs Steve, Joe & Marc to take me back to my teenage years in the 1960s! Bring it on guys......

It looks as though The Harold Club's in for a very busy night on Friday! The room holds 120 & the doors open at 8pm - best be early & bring your dancing shoes........

Absolutely amazing night.

 

Top tunes delivered. Special shout out to Joe tucker. Excellent blues played. Marc silverside, aptly named played some beefy mod classics keeping the floor filled and Steve's Northern flavours consistently kept the ladies moving.

 

Fantastic venue. The floor, man, the floor was ace to dance on. No talc required. Lowly lit at first inviting people onto the floor. Plenty of seating for a very lovely crowd.

 

So nice to be in a Mod environment. Best night I've had for ages, and I have some good nights.

 

Roll on the next one,   I will be attending.
