Popular Comment Bazm 1,170 Posted January 29 Popular Comment Paul Shirley _ Southport via Wigan Paul is a regular and well-known face on the scene from his early days at the Casino (from where he earned the nickname ‘Wigan Paul’…An avid collector and a regular at Lowton from early 2000 and one of the DJ team, Paul has, over the years bought and sold more records than most have ever owned. Paul’s collecting focus has always been the rarer end of the spectrum and because of that, he brings a wonderful selection of rare, original ‘oldies’ and ‘newies’ to the venues he DJ’s at. Paul is a guy who’s really passionate about his Soul music and the selections listed just go to show and why we are looking forward to him DJing in the Main and Rare rooms on Saturday Some of Paul's Current Plays Walter and the Admirations Man oh Man Del Larks Job Opening Joseph Webster My Love is So Strong Eddie Parker I’m Gone Sag Wayfare Don’t Be So Jive Fred and the Turbines Bernadine Johnny and the Brothers of Soul It’s Allright Girl 4

I would give you the lads name but it’s not my place to mention names all I will say is he ain’t English lol Edited January 29 by Paul Shirley 2
Bazm 1,170 Posted January 29 Rob Haigh Middleton via Telford Rob joined the Lowton ‘Party’ later than some but more that made up for it by embracing the Lowton vibe readily and wholeheartedly. A regular at venues across the Midlands, such as Bretby and the Lea Manor, Rob honed his love of 60’s rare soul and today collects and DJ’s with an eye (and ear) on the more ‘underplayed’ sounds our scene has to offer. So as you can see from his current playlist there are some wonderful selections coming your way from Rob on Saturday… Rob’s Lowton Favourites: Delegates Of Soul - I'll Come Running Back - Phil-La The Magnetics - Count The Days - Sable Betty Wilson - I'm Yours - Tyco Edith Brown - You Did It - 4 Brothers The Tempests - Someday - Mercury Lp Track Rob's Current Plays: Johnny Clyde Copeland - Coming To See About You - Jetstream Gladys Tyler With Ray Scott & The Scottsmen - A Little Bitty Girl ( With A Great Big Mountain Of Pride ) - Decca Barbara Banks - Ain't I Worth A Dime - Smash Kell Osborne - Small Things - New Bag Gladys - Can't Get You Outta My Mind - O-Gee 1

Popular Comment Bazm 1,170 Posted Thursday at 20:00 Popular Comment Mick Howard Heywood Manchester It would be fair to say that Mick and his wife Karen are two of the mainstays of the scene in the North-West today. Both regulars at LOWTON CIVIC and a host of venues all across the North-West over the years, they have become barometers of quality venues, which thankfully, includes CULCHETH and ASHTON UKRAINIAN where Mick is involved as a DJ and co-promoter. Looking at Micks favourite selections both current and past, you can see why he’s part of the team at Saturdays ALL-DAYER Mick's LOWTON MEMORIES Gladys Knight " No One Can Love You More" Calvin Grayson "Love's Just Begun" Curly Moore "You Don't Mean" Barbara Lynn "Moving On A Groove" Nolan Porter "If I Could Only Be Sure" MICK's Five Current Spins Ivy Jo "I Can Feel The Pain" The Dramatics "Your Love Was Strange" The Gambrells "You Better Move" The Holidays "I Lost You" The Vontels "Ta Hula Hoop" 4

Maxwell 136 Posted Friday at 08:37 Coming over tomorrow see its 100 parking spaces. What is the street parking like in the area?
Eddiefoster 2,951 Posted Friday at 12:14 3 hours ago, Maxwell said: Coming over tomorrow see its 100 parking spaces. What is the street parking like in the area? Here's a map of the area - The Village Club is marked, plenty of parking available but if it's maxed out the best options are off the main road B5207 there's some parking near the green (see red arrow) and it's probably a 5min walk back to the club. I'm not sure Wigshaw Lane itself is a good place to park - it may even be restricted. Hope that helps.
