All strictly played on original vinyl.

Manchester's Room at The Top returns in February 2025!

We're pleased to announce our two guest DJs: Eddie Wainwright and our very own Ethan Howarth!

Joining them are Aimee Turner and Jake Rusty Rigby. Plus, Connor White and Myself, all spinning an across-the-board mix of '60s/'70s Northern Soul, rarer underplayed gems, funk, and lesser-played Motown. Of course... all from original vinyl.

Expect a dimly lit wooden dance floor, an incredible sound system, limited seating, and a sweat-soaked atmosphere.

Ticket link coming soon!

Looking for somewhere to head before the doors open? Port Street Beer House is the spot - located just across the road from the car park for those driving into Manchester. It’s a favourite gathering place for many before RATT kicks off!

Introducing Our First Guest DJ: Eddie Wainwright:
‎
"I've been collecting records since I first became a mod in the late '70s. One of my earliest purchases was Tamla Motown Mod Classics—which I originally bought just for the mod target on the cover—but that record sparked a lifelong love for soul music.
‎
My journey into DJing happened almost by accident. In the late '80s and early '90s, while running my own scooter club events, a DJ dropped out at the last minute. Someone pointed out that I’d been collecting records since I was 12, so I stepped up to the decks—and never looked back.
‎
By the mid to late '90s, I had moved from scooter rallies to club nights, securing a spot at Brighton Beach, where I was fortunate to learn from some of the best mod and R&B DJs around. That experience shaped my style and led to opportunities to play at some of my favourite venues and club nights, including Pow Wow, The Fed, Mousetrap, and rare soul all-nighters in Rugby, Burnley, and beyond. I’ve also had the privilege of DJing at mod and soul weekenders in Glasgow, Bridlington, and Manchester, as well as legendary nights like Green Onions and Barefoot in Lincoln.
‎
I was resident DJ at Empty Bottles Rare Soul Club in Leeds, where I also helped organise events. Beyond the UK, my passion for music has taken me overseas, with DJ sets in Copenhagen and as far afield as Australia, where I played the Perth Mod Weekender—an unforgettable experience.
‎
Always searching for rare and underplayed gems, my love for soul, R&B, and mod music remains as strong as ever.
‎
Current Top Five Spins:
‎
William Powell – Heartache Souvenirs (Power House)
Judy Stokes – A Real Man (Soul Power)
Cecil Washington – I Don't Like to Lose (Prophonics)
Gene Holiday – Scratch My Name Off the Mailbox (Johnson)
Jimmy Phillips – She Belongs to Me (Bumps)
