About The Event

Another belting day and evening of Soul to die for

Revolutions/601@theLibrary  All Dayer 08 June

2-10.00pm  Free Admission -free parking trams every 10 minutes up to midnight from Meadowhall and Sheffield City and Train Station to Attercliffe and a 5 minute walk to the Library

Guests joining us - John Benson -Shaun Mcphail and Susan Spiby Wade

Our Dj's do their own thing, that's our policy. Its a great venue with a touch of New Orleans French Quarter to it and a great open knowledgeable friendly soul crowd who come with an open mind hoping to hear something off the tracks and never leave disappointed.

The Library is now under new management and as well as having a spring clean it  will have a truly mouth watering array of food to go with a stunningly well stacked bar

We don't play the quote "top 500" we aren't a traditional Northern night though we do dip into our Northern Roots, so do throw the odd one in. You will hear, for example  60's or 70's next to soulful house and it works.

Our aim is to promote the meaning of Soul through exposing and promoting the artists. 99% vinyl original with 1% cd when not available on vinyl

(legitimately) Covering 6 decades our music policy only requires you to have an open mind to the expansive world of  Soul music and hearing something different, which is how the whole thing evolved anyway.

Where do I begin?  Lovely venue, (it really is the old Library and is full of character) great staff, good food, good bar.   Most importantly...  the music!!!  All resident djs & guests played fabulous eclectic sets covering all genre of soul and not one top 500.  Some long forgotten gems, some class classics (as I say NO top 500), some genuine surprises at records never played out,  but oh my goodness they certainly should be, right through to brand new releases.  Superb treat for the ears, mind and soul. A breath of fresh air. Such a friendly, welcoming crowd.  I'm really impressed and will definitely be returning.  Ps:  on a personal note   -  access for wheelchairs/ small mobility scooter is excellent - always a bonus for me.  If you like soul music a little left field.. this is definitely the one. Give it a go I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
