Up n Coming at CULCHETH…

Following the great night at CULCHETH on September 7th when we welcomed ‘The Godfather of Soul’, SOUL SAM back behind the wheels of steel for two great sets in the Modern Room AND the Northern room, playing a great mix of rare 60’s, 70’s and 80’s soul, classics and a few of his very tasty cover-ups, to a very welcoming crowd…Now we have a bit of a coup to share with you…Our Special Guest on Saturday OCTOBER 5th, all the way from SWEDEN is STOCKHOLM SOUL supremo, CARL HEDBERG!

CARL has been the driving force of the renowned, annual, STOCKHOLM SOUL WEEKENDERS and FAMILY CIRCLE European promotions, not only that CARL has DJ’d at the world famous 100 CLUB, DAB of SOUL WEEKENDERS, TUFF LOVE WEEKENDERS as well as a host of venues across Europe. Carl’s collection has been built up over many years and boasts the kind of records, loved by the CULCHETH crowd, Monster sounds from the Casino, Stafford, 100 Club, to name but a few. It would be an understatement to say we are looking forward to welcoming CARL to the decks…

Along with CARL and as part of a celebratory ‘STOCKHOLM comes to the NORTH-WEST' 3-Day, 3 Venue event, we welcome, BOB SPENDLOVE from THE SHIRT CLUB in Radcliffe to CULCHETH for his inaugural set at the venue. Again, no stranger to the scene, BOB has been around for many years and has a great collection to pull from, so we are looking forward to BOB joining us on OCTOBER 5th.

Both CARL and BOB will be supported on the night by this months’ residents ‘team’ of Baz Maleedy, Simon Ingham and Charlie Smith, so expect quality tuneage from start to finish and ‘Accept No Substitutes!

As Derek Pearson correctly identified Tommy Turner had two releases on the label, with one letter different in the title, but a major difference in value!!!

Correct Mick, however Lady seems to be creeping up in value.

Expect the sublime to the ridiculous from our Swedish brother - he isn't scared of throwing in an accessible underplayed gem or too alongside the WOWSERS

Which side does it for you Carl, for me Rollin Rollin's possibly one of the best things I've heard in the last 20 years. The backing singers are just brilliant.

Tough call — gun to my head I might say Broken Heart, but they are both superb.

That makes it a proper double sider or as Baz likes to call them a twofer😄
