Johnny Beggs, who in his late teens was djing at the Torch all-nighters. A few years later, was a regular at the Blackpool Mecca and to some extent a part of the inner circle around the main djs of Ian Levine and Colin Curtis. Later on, part of the furniture at the Stafford and 100 club all-nighters. Obviously, a person who feels more at home at upfront venues and someone who doesn't shy away from pushing a new or underplayed sound.  Although John has been on the scene forever, he still has a youthful enthusiasm for the music and swears that's the secret of his Peter Pan looks. 

Tim Ashibende, one of the fittest looking guys on the scene, which belies the amount of all-nighters that he's attended since the mid 70s. Tim has had more rare records through his hands than most people on the scene and has discovered more significant vinyl than you can shake a stick at.  During the Wigan era, Tim managed to un-cover more of Richard Searling's superb playlist than anyone else in that hallowed building. He was also one of the first people to secure rare vinyl, by tracking down and interviewing U.S. artists, producers, arrangers and other related persons (pre-internet). From this visionary and creative activity, Tim managed to generate an unprecedented bank of knowledge about our beloved music, now copied by many others.  

On that particular night, from both guests, expect a well thought out and considered spot of delightful tunes.

Really looking forward to hearing Tim's spot and what he plays.  

Rest assured you will be in for a treat, I have had the good fortune to whiteness Tim DJ at two soul nights in the last year or so and they have both been the best spot of the night on both occasions. They were oldies but the sort you seldom hear I would love to know what he has stashed away in his collection. Unfortunately we are on holiday and won’t be able to make it to the 100 club on Saturday but we will be at the August all-nighter all being well.

I was so looking forward to this.  But due to my health I'm not going to be able to make it..

if anyone could list what Tim plays i would really appreciate it.

Was hoping to get back up and running so to speak and attend tonight, but can't happen unfortunately, so anyone attending could you would you please if possible post a listing of the tunes played if only the stand out tunes , thanks in advance , have a great night ,,,,

Absolutely stonking 100 Club with great sounds from all the DJs. Tons of heavy duty classics & Kent discoveries (Del Larks, Martha Starr on Charay, Paramount Four etc), insane 60’s coverups of the highest quality (And The Echos, Marsha Evans & the Georgettes) unissued gems (Dynamites from Tim) and a touch of cracking 70’s (Sammie Relford, former JB Hammond c/u, Fluorescent Smogg etc). But it felt like a full on rare stomping 60s soul night. Full floor all night and there was a real energy in the house.

One of the best i’ve attended for some time and incredible sounds from Tim, and all the DJs.

Big thanks to Adey, Mattie and all the usual suspects that make the 100 so special.
