Another Saturday Night

55 years ago, Motown legend Edwin Starr performed at the then famous Broken Wheel in Retford on 29th September 1968.

'Another Saturday Night'  has been created to celebrate the first years of Soul, the Broken Wheel, and great artists such as Edwin Starr, Jimmy Ruffin, Junior Walker & The All Stars, Arthur Conley, Jimmy James and the Vagabonds and many more.

Playing live will be The Edwin Starr Band themselves, featuring none other than Edwin's younger brother Angelo.  Find out more here.
There will also be a DJ playing classic Soul hits before and after the live band performance.

Dance the night away to a string of classics at this not-to-be-missed special event.

The event organiser is local businessman John Kirk, who has a deep passion for the early days of Soul and is author of the book 'Another Saturday Night' covering the heydays of The Broken Wheel. DJ Beechy - Ian Beech - will be compère on the night.

All proceeds will go to Bassetlaw Hospice.
