Color One Tear Black welcomes Ross Allen as guest selector at The Paradise on Sunday, 9th April. Ross has a long history working in music, from his early 90s days behind the counter at Streatham’s Inner Rhythm record shop, to Dorado Records where he had his own Filter label, working with J’helisa Anderson and D*Note, among others. A stint as A&R at Island records followed, before he side-stepped into artist management. More recently Ross co-produced and then released the Lady Blackbird album on his own Foundation Music label. The album featured inspired cover versions, including show-stopping cuts of Reuben Bell’s ‘It’s Not that Easy’ and Irma Thomas’s ‘Ruler of My Heart’. Ross has been a long-time radio presenter too, with shows on Radio London and BBC 6 Music, and more recently nts, where he hosts his award-winning The Meltdown show.
In addition to the fabulous and illustrious @rossallenmusic we will now be joined by legendary US record dealer and DJ. Owner of @friendsofsound in ATX David Haffner, @fosdave plus one of the most talked about rare soul selectors in the US makes her London debut, Double Peas @doublepeas!!!
