This one from Tony Matthews always went down well at the old Lowton Civic, here's hoping it's still as popular at the new Culcheth Village Club

Good 70's always goes down a treat, this one from the Essex 1V is no exception.

The Mecca Highland Room buzzed to records like this one.

The sad passing of the wonderful Bobby Caldwell today.

I'm pretty sure this anthem will get a spin in the Culcheth modern room.

Previously unreleased from 1965, this one from The 4 Masters is now available on the flipside of the wonderful "Pretty One"

Is it possible to listen to this without tapping your feet "Hearsay" I love it.

I've noticed on some of Simon's latest playlists that about 90% are male vocalists,

However this beauty from the female variety features on his playlist occasionally.

All I'll say about the video is there's 3 damn lucky boyfriends/partners out there. Lol

One more week to go before the inaugural night for our ‘Spirit of Lowton’ special, at CULCHETH VILLAGE CLUB.

Looking forward to welcoming special guest DJ’s, one of Lowton Civic Hall’s favourite spinners, DAVE SHANNON, who’ll be featuring some of his favourite sounds from the very much loved venue, as well as some of the records he’s collected over the years and is looking to feature in his set. Add to that Chocolate Radio DJ, TONY SHAWCROSS joining the Modern Room team and you have the makings of a great night out on SATURDAY APRIL 1st

Lovin this all over again, first heard at LOWTON CIVIC

Here's a little known fact, Jim Eddleston found the first 2 copies of this on Boss Records and sold me one on the condition I covered it up as The El Darados, which I did, it never really took off first time round so Ian Cunliffe had it off me, I think it ended up with Tim Brown.

Here's another interesting fact about Jim. He also found the first copy of The Prophets "One gold piece" on Shrine that was thought to be unreleased at the time.

Jim Eddleston one of the unsung heroes and sadly missed.

Don't forget the LP bag Bob 😉

Maybe time this got an airing WHOOSH!!

Whilst I have the Lp bag with me I'll take the Wilson Williams album as well, I'm pretty sure it can be played in either room. Methinks Richard Flowers of the brilliant & mega rare Flowers "For real" 7" wrote and produced this track.

We are in for a treat on Saturday when our special guest DJ is Dave Shannon. One of the original LOWTON DJ’s, Dave’s passion for the music back in the heyday of LOWTON CIVIC still shines through today. To quote him from some of our recent messages he says “Some records have meaning, real memories from the heart”… Can’t wait to see and hear Dave’s set at CULCHETH on Saturday, I hope some of will join me, for records like this…

I loved the Sky Arts documentary on Ennio Morricone,

The Good,The Bad & the Ugly theme tune reminded me of the intro of this classic from Ollie Jackson,

The flipside was massive at Wigan however this side takes me back to Blackburn Tony's Empress
