THIS SATURDAY 4th MARCH sees the return of the superb Brookfield Stables "Late Soul Night" - in its longstanding and continuing First Saturday Of The Month slot!

Features BIRTHDAY BOY Ted Massey - who's currently on everyone's lips for all the wrong reasons - but rest assured he can still do the business with his large, high quality collection.
Top drawer support by Jez Jones, Martin Farmer, Natalie Nicholls, Dekka Banks, Glyn Garfield and Yours Truly.

Wonderful venue, great dancefloor, quality sound system, seven hours dancing, M6/J11 location and inflation busting admission price...
Just £5 on the door - the same price it was in 2003! That's value for you.

Review of the very well attended relaunch night which was a few weeks ago...

As several DJs, attendees and dancers have already made clear, it was a superb night of quality soul music, old and not so old. The venue looked and performed exceptionally well, as did the DJs who kept the dancefloor rocking all night. It was a credit to them and the dancers that such high quality stuff packed the floor. We certainly had a tasteful turnout - and it was a big one! Cars and people on the large car park before doors opened at 7pm! Keen or what.😲  And it was almost full to capacity by 10pm!

Ray opened the night with popular classics; an ideal start and one to get the blood flowing in up-for-it legs!
Dekka Banks followed, in much the same theme, as the place filled up nicely. Non-stop killers with the Four Pros "Just Another Girl" the most popular of the night so far.

John Weston was next, with yet another varied selection of gems, boxed specially for the night. Some very cool stuff, including the timeless Joseph Moore. Wonderful!

Dave Evison followed at 10pm, again with some not-oft-heard oldies - which worked! Nothing bog standard about this night.

Rob Smith, earlier than his more usual 'graveyard' set, kept everyone happy with a nice mix of underplayed oldies and rarities like Yvonne Vernee's "Just Like You Did Me". Excellent!

Sam Moore took to the stage at midnight with great mix of super-classics and underplayed gems, the highlight for me being Garland Green's "Angel Baby".

I wrapped things up from 1 - 2am, with many staying until close. The more hardcore stop-outs getting a more serious selection, including my lad's favourite Betty Fikes "Prove It To Me", which is fast acquiring a following.

The dancefloor was in great shape and certainly didn't require any talc!

Another 5star event ...capturing both an
appreciative crowd gathered into an iconic venue
This venue  has hosted many memorable events in the past ...not least the much missed Lifeline Allnighters

The welcome return of record sellers on the 'balcony area' which incidentally gives a fabulous view of the dancefloor and the crowd....reminded many of those hot sweaty allnighters here ..where record sales areas were 'buzzing' it was a real blast from the past !!

Some great music on to be heard also right from the off......won't name check any of the DJ's but the heroic and VERY welcome appearance of Ted Massey who played a  set like only Ted could put together !!

These 'Stables' nights are ones to savour....keep going Pep....they are a 'must go to'
