In preparation for our 'Spirit of Lowton' anniversary special - we would love to see any old photographs of The Lowton Civic Hall years... If you have any photographs, post them up in the comments section.

You can also share your favourite memories and post up any requests for the DJs in preparation for the Lowton anniversary special at Culcheth! It's going to be a great night.

Hi Jordan Here's a couple of anniversary items that I kept from back in the day, both are well worn,in fact I'm amazed I still have them, one was for the 5th anniversary and the other one was The Usual Suspects T for the 7th anniversary. The 3rd T shirt is the mega rare St Helen's Rugby Club, Saints Anniversary T. That venue definitely deserves a revival special. I can't put my hands on the complimentary CD's & vinyl at the moment.

I'm sure Kev or Baz will know who compiled them, I'll hazard a guess Dave Holt had something to do with them

Thank you!!!

To everybody who has shared their Lowton Civic Hall photographs throughout the years.

It has helped to create this great collage of images!

Although this might be hard to view on a computer screen/phone - I'm organising a large print to be on show for the The Spirit of Lowton - Anniversary Special @ Culcheth.

In the meantime, keep your images, memories and sounds coming!

We hope you can make it along for a great night on Saturday 4th February 8pm until 2am!

Note: this anniversary special will go on until 2am!

Looking forwards to this event immensely - Lowton was the jewel in the crown of soul nights throughout the 90s and up until the venue sadly closed (I think that was 2017?) but Culcheth is a worthy replacement!

If the last anniversary was anything to go by it will be rammed so get there early and expect great things from both rooms

Eagerly anticipating this one!, the anniversaries have always been extra special occasions, the music unquestionably brilliant!, right on the money, as with how it used to be at the original venue.

Certainly had many a great night there, one of the best dance floors in the uk, sadly all gone now but fondly remembered...Culcheth is proving to be the ideal replacement, established in its own right now...how we werent aware of this hidden gem before now is a complete mystery, but its certainly having the desired effect in keeping the flame burning.

A great line up of djs with superb record collections, guaranteeing youll hear something you like, if not everything.....everything itll be then!!😉👍

Now here's a tune that had some minor success in the back room at LOWTON back in the day but has now become a firm favourite with the CULCHETH crowd. In fact it could get plays in both the Northern and Modern rooms due to the fact this mega rarity is in the play boxes of both special guest TED MASSEY and Modern Room resident, CHARLIE SMITH!... enjoy

Lowton Civic Hall, as were celebrating one of the best North West soul nights of all time, I'll never forget the night (New Years Eve if I'm not mistaken) Chris King played The Mayfield Singers inst for the very first time to a packed dancefloor, we had no idea there was an even better vocal to follow.

I gave this one its first outing at Culcheth before lockdown - to my surprise it got a great reaction as something quite a few of the faithful hadn't heard played out before!....job done (accidentally LOL)

Dave Holt reliably informs me that Chris King played this covered as Bob Hinsleys Strings that night
