Here's a bit of useful info taken from The George website. George's is on Parkside - just 2 minutes' walk up the road from the bus station.

I've just been sent a list of the drinks promos that will be on offer on the night.

Pint of House lager - 3.00

3x bottles Budweiser 10.00

Bottle of house wine (Red, white or rose) 15.00

House spirit plus mixer 3.50

Cocktails  2 for 12.00

With two weeks still to go until Soul Brew's first event in our new venue, we've already had LOADS & LOADS of interest - so far it's looking as though we're in for an extremely busy night! Doors open at 8pm - please be early to avoid disappointment. 

Can’t believe it’s here already.. our first night at the Mead Hall at the George Hotel in Cleckheaton.. promises to be a cracking night with Jonah’s top guest spot, Soul Brew resident DJs giving it the full Brew treatment, an amazing big room and drinks packages.  Some great new tunes in the box too- including this out and out dancer from the Spindles..

Well tonight's the night - it's all looking really good & promising to be a very busy night at The George! Please be early to avoid disappointment - doors open at 8pm. 

PS - Best get your dancing shoes out - you'll need them!!

I've spent all day thinking just what to write about last night at The George - it was such an absolute blast that I don't even know where to begin!

We were supposed to be opening the doors at 8pm, but by 7.30 people were already beginning to arrive - by 8pm we had just over 30 in & people were stepping onto the dance floor! Clearly we were in for a very busy night..... By around 9.30 we had a full house & I was a bit worried that we might have to turn people away, but happily we managed to fit everybody in.......just. 

The atmosphere was absolutely BUZZING - busy dance floor all night & feedback was all very positive from the get-go - everyone said how great the venue is - music spot on - bar prices good etc.

We initially had a slight problem with seating - we'd warned the venue that we were in for a busy night & would need lots of seating, but even then they underestimated just HOW busy! The staff soon realized & found more chairs etc. Teething problems that will all be sorted for our next event at The George! 

Last - but by no means least - Soul Brew want to say thanks to everyone who came to support us at our first event - all very much appreciated. Thanks also to guest DJ Jonah - you played a storming spot & every tune went down really well with the dancers. 

Looking forward now to our next event at The George - we'd hoped to book the 3rd Saturday of the month again, but the only date available to us in March was Friday 10th March so we've booked that & then hopefully we'll be back to the 3rd Saturday of every month.

As soul nights go that was up there.. Massive thanks to everyone that came and supported our opening night/ brilliant crowd - buzzing from the start to finish and a full dance floor all night. Hats off to guest DJ Jonah for his slot. Brilliant venue too - and faces from all over West Yorkshire and beyond making the trip to check it out. The Mead Hall at the George is definitely a soul night for the diary - we’ve got the following dates lined up - all with top notch DJs to be announced:
