After some amazing feedback from April's Ashton Ukrainian Club, there's no let up as we look forward to an awesome line up for our next date Saturday May 20th.

Mr Detroit A Go Go Phil Dick will be making his way across the pennines for a return behind the decks after an amazing debut set in 2022!! Grumpy Soul innovator Phil Threlfall another returnee DJ will be joining us again(quality all the way) Tsop Manchester (Culcheth Head Honcho) Baz Maleady will be digging deep into one of the most complete collections out there, you just know it's gonna be good!!

Bolton's Derek Whatmough will also be joining us along with Ashton "Anchor Man" Phil Dunn and birthday boy Chris Churm complete an amazing lineup.

We are back on our normal third saturday in the month after the easter holidays, not forgetting our earlier start time 7pm-00.30.

Lots of interest already, so put the date in your diary and as ever early arrival is an absolute must do!!

We have our inhouse sound system piped into the bar area for all you lounge lizards and vinyl junkies!!

£5 admission pay on the door, gets you a slice of the action !!

Another busy old weekend ahead, looking very healthy in the footfall at quality events, playing something a bit different. Culcheth and Manchester Soul Weekend being a good reference point, this weekend.

Just over two weeks to the next Ashton Ukrainian Club May 20th running at our new earlier start time 7pm-00.30 Five and half hours quality soul music from 60s/70s AND just £5 admission pay on the door!!

Culcheth main man Baz Tsop Manchester Maleady makes a return behind the decks joining Phil Dick and Phil Threlfall..........hang on a minute Ashton regular starting the night Phil Dunn that's three Phil's hmmm bit of a theme going on here lol

Breaking the chain Ashton originator Chris Churm and Bolton's Derek Watmough, complete a strong line up.

The lounge area is the place to be, for a good old social and browse the odd sales box, you just never know what you might find!!!

Please arrive early, as we anticipate another busy night. Lots of parking available in the surrounding streets. Once again we take our hats off to our regulars and new attendees, you make it all worthwhile.

Please check back regularly on the thread and feel free to RSVP the event. As ever expect some quality sound bites for the music that awaits, see you on the dancefloor!!!

WOW what a beauty, I've only ever seen this for sale once, it was on one of Brownies Auctions many years ago. Excellent choice.

Note to myself, Get your arse to Ashton to hear it played out. Nice one Phil,

I wonder if Baz'll have Dolly Gilmore "Sweet, sweet baby"with him?

I'll be adding Baz's selections soonish, should be some interesting choices!!

Just over a week to our next night at Ashton Ukrainian Club. Saturday May 20th is shaping up to be another cracker.

As ever another quality line up, with some real pedigree on the Rare Soul Scene.

Phil Dick will be well known to most for his "Detroit A Go Go" events and before that at various events in and around Bradford.

Baz Maleady another quality DJ and non too shabby promotor of The Culcheth "spirit of Lowton events, also being a major player on the crossover/ modern circuit with The excellent "spirit of the Orwell" nights at Haydock, proving real poplular with folk with an open mind on quality soul music. The Saints Club in St Helens being the catalyst for "pushing the boundaries" soul music through the Lowton Civic Hall period to present day.

Phil Threlfall known more recently for the "ground breaking" Grumpy Soul Nights. Phil has been a stalwart on the scene in the post Wigan period from Morecambe Pier, Stafford TOTW and beyond, expect the unexpected!!

Bolton's Derek Watmough will be adding the usual classy selection from all eras, being a regular from the early days of OUR music!!

Phil Dunn will be starting the night, again mixing the classics and a few " curve balls"!! Pinning the whole thing together Ashton Main Man Chris Churm probably the most unassuming DJ you will ever meet. His records speak for themselves!!!

Please remember our now earlier start time running 7pm-00.30 and an interest rate busting £5 pay on the door!!

Our regulars and new attendees never cease to amaze with the distances they travel for this quality event, many thanks!!

Please check the thread and feel free to RSVP the event, on here for any updates !!

Looking forward to Baz Maleady back behind the decks at the Ukrainian Club. One of my all time favourite Soul Singers Linda Jones, recorded so many great records that have seen turntable action over the years, this one seems to have grabbed the attention recently and rightly so!!
