Eddiefoster 2,898 Posted September 16, 2022 What's not to like! - going from strength to strength and deservedly so IMHO, looking forwards to seeing Mr Thomas, here's one I first heard him play back in the 90s....not sure if he was the first but it always reminds me of him 1
Jessie Pinkman 634 Posted September 18, 2022 I've just about recovered from my thoroughly enjoyable (in a masochistic sort of way) 60 minutes playing all things modern/TSOP in the modern room last month to stormers like this one from the Jades this time. Not for the faint hearted this one. 1
Jessie Pinkman 634 Posted September 18, 2022 Another glorious oldie this time from the Jay Walkers, the louder you scream the faster we go. lol 2
Jessie Pinkman 634 Posted September 20, 2022 This one from Danny Denver reminds me of the brilliant Johnny Clyde Copeland on Suave, maybe not as good but not many are to be honest.

Jessie Pinkman 634 Posted September 22, 2022 (edited) Rob Thomas told me at Culcheth a couple of months ago that this should have come out on Shrine but money or some deal or other was owed to Jet Set Records so Eddie Singleton let them have this recording. As per usual when I'm out, it goes in one ear & out the other, but that bit stuck in there. Edited September 22, 2022 by Jessie Pinkman 1
Jessie Pinkman 634 Posted September 26, 2022 (edited) Joe Douglas Something to brag about great double sider. Robbo sometimes plays the flipside Crazy things which I prefer actually, I think it suits his vocal better but what do I know. PS I'm sending out a search party for Simon AKA Eddie Foster. PS I'm sending out a search party for Simon AKA Eddie Foster. He's otherwise occupied today on two wheels round a track, normal service will be resumed real soon!!

Eddiefoster 2,898 Posted September 26, 2022 Wowser, Culcheth seems to have come around so quickly - the night has been building and building in the last few months (deservedly) so expect another busy one on Saturday! Nice to see Steve Thomas guesting in the main room and Chris Box no doubt delivering the goods in the modern room alongside dark horse Charlie Smith..... All in all not to be missed - see you all there 3
Micksmix 2,652 Posted September 27, 2022 Deffo THE place to be, on the first saturday in the month. Usually a strong contingent in anyway from North Wales. The arrival of Steve Thomas behind the decks will only increase the amount of travellers making the journey down the M56, looks like a busy one, get there early folks!! 2

Jessie Pinkman 634 Posted September 28, 2022 Jordan, will Shirley J Scott get an outing. It sounded great the first time I heard it from behind the speakers, I need a second hearing from the front this time.

Defo going to spin that, along with the unissued Tommy Rodgers track I've been trying to give some airtime too. 3

I can't say I've heard the Tommy Rodgers track. So that's another good reason to go to Culcheth this Saturday.

Jessie Pinkman 634 Posted September 28, 2022 (edited) Bill Wildman posted this track from the Isley Brothers on facebook as a possible play in the modern room this Saturday and I have to say even though it made no 11 in the US R&B chart in 1980 It's certainly one that passed me by. WOW. perfect Isleys. Edited September 28, 2022 by Jessie Pinkman 2
