Big News from the CULCHETH Press Office!

Due to POPULAR DEMAND, from those who were there and those who missed it, we are delighted to announce that CARL and MARIA WILLINGHAM will be back at CULCHETH on SATURDAY AUGUST 6th for a return session in the main room, to follow on from the fantastic rare soul set they played on July 2nd!

CARL and MARIA will be joined by CULCHETH residents BOB HINSLEY, KEV MURPHY, SIMON INGHAM and ROBBO, spinning top quality 60’s and 70’s Northern, R&B and Rare Soul for you to enjoy.

NOT ONLY THAT but we also have the MODERN ROOM which this month features ‘MODERN SOUL CLASSICS’ main man STEVE WOOMBLE! Steve is joined by SO SOULFUL 70’s anchor STEVE PLUMB, LOWTON and PRESTWICH Modern Room stalwart BAZ MALEEDY, CASSINELLIS and NEWTON CRICKET CLUB resident BILL WILDMAN and NEW RELEASE SOULSTER, PETE RATCLIFFE. Featuring music from the 70’s, 80’s right through to today’s vinyl selections, this is a MODERN ROOM experience NOT TO BE MISSED…

So Soulful Saturday’s are here… ENJOY!

Matching last month musically is the challenge so here's one possibility for the early doors crowd. Tony Mathews ~ My Wish,  quality from the off.

Get there early doors for quality like this one from Grady Tate ~"Lady Love" just wonderfully uplifting.

Hear it on Culcheths main room sound system and it could blow your mind.  Jimmy Cobb here I come.

Putting my 'Modern' hat on for a minute, one of our Modern Room regulars (Ged Lunt) has been dropping to to maximum effect

Crossover? Northern? Modern?....SOUL!

I'd better start dusting down the playbox for this one - no pressure at all following on from the last event HONESTLY!!!

Maybe ease into the set with a shuffler or 2???

It's been quite a while since I stuck this on the turntable so a definite for the 6th. Does sticking it on the turntable make me sound slightly ancient.

Baz would call them the wheels of steel or something similar. Great record though by Sir Joe Quarterman "A guy for you"
