Northernsmith 0 Posted June 24, 2022 Well what can I say and I am going to be totally honest not in a nasty way intended here we go …… never been here before live in sheffield the worst venue for a northern event we have ever been to and we have been to hundreds !!!! i would honestly say smaller than my living room no joke at all it probably holds around 30 -40 people at the most how can the organiser actually call this a soul nite if I did not live in Sheffield and had travelled miles to attend I would be truly gutted and well and truly fed up as this would have cost a fortune this should not be getting advertised on souls source as an event Although it only cost £3 to get in I nearly asked for my money back I was that annoyed but thought better of it and just walked away this should be removed from soul source as an event it’s embarrassing
Lynn Griffiths 0 Posted June 26, 2022 Well Northernsmith I couldn’t disagree with you more with your comments about the Roundabout Club It’s a fantastic club that has been steadily growing in membership since it started late last year. I was there at the first one and it’s always been a good night. It recently moved to the Bowling Club for the last 2 events for various reasons. The bowling club holds 70 by the way and is a great cosy venue. Great atmosphere. Across the board great music with fantastic resident DJs. A lot bigger than a living room!!! it’s now outgrown the Bowling club as it gets more popular with every event and is moving to Norton Country Club (a bigger venue with a large dance floor and plenty of parking) for the next event with great local guest DJs Roger Barratt & Charlie Warhurst. It’s going to be a top event not to be missed. Don’t be put off by this negative review. It’s a fantastic very friendly club, the friendliest I know. Get yourselves down there. It’s a top night.
Northernsmith 0 Posted June 26, 2022 I wasn’t giving bad reviews for the music etc it was the venue and how small it was so I did say no comment was intended nastily
Lynn Griffiths 0 Posted June 26, 2022 Maybe so but the comment about removing it from Soul Source was ridiculous I think that was offensive. The club has just outgrown the venue which is now rectified. Long may it continue. Fantastic people running the club. The best night in Sheffield.
Kevin Bruce 26 Posted June 27, 2022 Hi sorry for our late response due to been away. My Name is Kevin Bruce one of organisers of this event. Thank you for your comments we take it all on board. Please let me explain why we had our club night at the Bradway Bowling Club. When we first started the Roundabout Soul Club off back in October Last Year, our fist few events was at the Sheffield Transport Club. Due to issue with facilities not been up to our standards and getting let down with them double booking the room. We was forced to find a alternative venue on such a small time scale and in the same area of Sheffield Bradway Bowling club Kindly lets us hold our event there. We new we would have to look for a larger club if the number of people attending went above 70. having said that the feed back we received from our members was that it was a lovely club that created a great atmosphere with a welcoming feeling and a well stocked bar with very reasonable prices. Big Thank you to Jackie and staff for all there support. As we have grown in Numbers attending we have now have been able to organize another home for our Club. The Norton House Country Club Norton Lane Sheffield S8 8HD. We are please to say that this clubs has a large carpark front and rear. Large dance floor and can hold up to 120 people in comfortable surroundings. Our first event at our new home is on the Friday 22nd of July 2022 Across the board Northern Soul 7.00pm - 12.00am £3.00 admission. Talc friendly and request driven dance floor. We do not have any policies just great music with great people witch in turn helps to make for a great warm and friendly atmosphere. Hope you to see all there. Kind regards Darren - Alan - Kev.
