Soul In The Hole Darlaston

As has been well documented over the past few days, our beloved Friend, Soul Brother & Darlaston Lad Kev ‘Louie’ Burden was tragically & suddenly taken from us at 3.30am Friday 06th May, 2022.

Kev has, & will continue to be, part of the foundation & fabric of SITH. Rarely missing an event as a fan with his lovely wife Jane, but also as part of the regular DJ roster.

It is with DJ duties in mind, that this week’s event would normally be cancelled as a mark of respect as Kev was the Guest DJ for May. However, when this issue was proposed with Jane & family, the response was a resounding ‘No – Kev would want the event to continue’.

The result is that a Burden will be Guest DJ at May’s event with all of the family in attendance.

MRS JANE BURDEN HAS AGREED TO PLAY THE SET OF RECORDS THAT KEV HAD SELECTED TO SPIN.

She will be accompanied on stage by Gary but this is very much Kev & Jane’s set as there is no doubt Kev will be guiding her all the way.

Whilst not attending in body, Kev’s spirit will drive the night &, in discussions with a number of Soul fans & DJs, friends of Kev & Jane plus regular SITH attendees, they will be extremely well supported. Another regular Guest DJ at SITH, Johnny Jinks, a lifelong friend to many of us, will also be playing a short tribute set alongside residents Juggy, Bunny & Silky.

In this unique way, Kev’s Soul lives on & SITH is privileged to honour the memory of one of the Black Country’s last few characters in the Soul Family.

We look forward to your company on Friday 13th May 2022 from 7.30pm at Soul In The Hole, Darlaston Conservative Club, 3 Little Cross Street, Darlaston WS10 8ET, but please be early to guarantee a seat.

Keeping it Safe, Soul In The Hole, the home of Darlaston Soul, continues with our regular second Friday in the month events! Developing our theme of Spring specials, SITH presents a Guest DJ who is a Black Country lad born & bred, KEV ‘LOUIE’ BURDEN. A lifetime’s knowledge of the soul scene & with stories galore, Kev’s appearances are not to be missed. Supporting Kev are residents Michael 'Juggy' Jones, Wayne 'Silky' Radcliffe, John Bunn & Gary Belcher. The club has been refurbished with indoor & outdoor improvements during the enforced closure so come & see what all the hard work has achieved. DJs playing the tunes that we all share, dance, listen & even sing along to at SITH. Classic Northern, Motown, Unknowns & some brand new plays will accommodate every taste. 8.00pm until 1.00am for early birds & night owls. Tunes galore so get out on the floor at SITH.
