About The Event

Well, after the episode of having to cancel our Christmas & New Year event, which was canceled due to high outbreaks of the Omicron variant of Covid-19, we are now able to move forward once again. We still feel it was the right decision to cancel and apologize for any inconvenience caused to anyone - we always have our member's safety as the highest priority! We have two dates planned at the moment, the first being Sunday, 20th March, and the next one after that on Sunday, 15th May. We are really hoping that now the Covid-19 situation is a lot less problematic, we can have a busy event similar to how it was before the pandemic started in early 2020. Dave, Mike, and myself along with the Ivory Bar management hope you can attend for a great afternoon soul music. If anyone needs any more info about the event please get in touch.

Packed and another most enjoyable Sunday in this upmarket venue, a classy cocktail bar with lounge seating and the ideal setting for  the ‘Movin’ on a Groove’ vibe.

Got there early doors just after 2pm for those rarer chill out tunes before becoming more uptempo later .

Great people , fabulous hosts and tunes to match from the residents, now with John Postill added, on the top notch sound system…

Can’t speak too highly of these sessions …hence it’s no surprise that people travel from far and wide. Just a shame it’s now another 2 months for bi monthly ‘Movin..’

Response from the promoter:

Thanks for the kind words & sharing your knowledge & great records with us. This is what I put on Facebook "Wow! what a great day yesterday's Movin' turned out to be [was there any doubt] it was as though we'd never been away. Great big thank you to our guest DJ Andy Bellwood for two great spots & judging the dance floor perfectly, also to debutant John Postill for stepping into the void left by Graham's much missed absence, nevertheless as always thanks to Graham Spink for the wonderful flyers & videos you produce which make the event special, lastly thanks to the Staff & Management who add to the great atmosphere & of course all our wonderful friends who come along and supports [to quote] "We love you all". The next one is the 15th May. PS Me & Dave weren't bad either".
