Dave Moore 2,315 Posted September 6, 2021 The 17th Hitsville Northern Soul Weekender is ON! A few restrictions are still in place in Mojacar, masks inside when not eating or drinking, max 10 to a table outsde whilst 6 inside etc but the main thing is that the venue can open to 0330 now and dancing OUTSIDE is allowed. So get ready to dance on the terrace overlooking the beach/Med. See all the Hitsville Stalwarts shortly! Dave Link to comment
Dave Moore 2,315 Posted September 9, 2021 ***UPDATE***UPDATE***UPDATE*** 9/9/2021 WEEK TO GO! Thought it best to just give out a few details about our shenanigans next week. I've not published things like timings, roster, locations etc as I learned from last year how confusing it can get as I had to chop and change on an almost weekly basis. I'm pretty confident that the current plan is solid but will confirm it all when I arrive at Continental on Monday for a final chat with Doli. There is a some ambiguity as to whether we will need to finish at 2am or can extend the Sat Night to 0330. COVID Protocols: Here's the details currently in place: The current protocols allow for tables of six INSIDE and 10 OUTSIDE Masks are currently worn inside the Hotel when moving around but not when eating or drinking. DJing: There will be no mandatory gloves or mic johnnies this year but there will be hand sanitizer in place. If guys wannna bring their own mics that's good, I will have 3/4 with me. Programme : All sessions will take place at the Continental this year. It was tried last year and worked, Less hassles at 2am outside Lua Bar. It also allows us more control of the venue. I have drafted a roster that gives everyone a decent spot and everyone will double deck on Sunday. Pool sessions are on the programme as usual and the AllDayer on the Terrace will be too. DANCING: Currently the rules allow for dancing OUTSIDE ON THE BEACHSIDE TERRACE and MASKS are REQUIRED. Last years stricter COVID regulations were manageable. This years are an improvement and may improve more before we kick off. The Hotel are well onside and the 'Hitsville Vibe' will be there in full I think. FINALLY, Although Mojacar is in the lowest infection rate level in Spain, in order to ensure we protect each other as much as possible could I ask that everyone undertake a Rapid Flow NHS test a couple of days before arriving. It might be prudent to also bring a handful with you. Antigen Tests for returning to UK are readily available at the Parque Commercial so don't flap too much about those. If anyone has any pressing concerns feel free to contact me via PM. I'm sure like us, you're gaggin' for a week away amongst great friends, many of whom we haven't seen for a year and a half. So bring yer best 45s, a good thirst, yer best laffin' gear and for the baldies amongst you.... a decent hat! It;s gonna be hot! See you next week Gang! Dave Link to comment
