BROUGHTON WINGS CLUB - 18 OCTOBER 2003 - REVIEW

Brilliant night with 200+ real soul fans in with ram-packed dancefloor action.

Guests Kevin Jones and Keith Williams playing the most popular to the rarest of the rare sounds to an appreciative crowd.

Soul Sam and Brian Ellis rounding things off, as usual, with a playlist of Broughton favourites plus a larger number of previously unplayed items with excellent reaction from an open-minded audience - soooo refreshing!

Broughton Wings goes from strength to strength - a really plush venue (newly installed, massively expensive aircon system makes the room very comfortable even when packed as last night); too-cheap-to-print bar prices (OK - lager £1.50 a pint, other drinks of a similar price - you wont feel too much of a hole in your pocket on Sunday morning) and admission just £2.50 proving that you can get top quality on the cheap.

Our next 2 soul nites (November and December) sees guest appearances of Neil Jones (Bury Town Hall) and Mark Big Daddy Bicknell (Solar Radio) alongside local DJs Phil Blacknell and Steve Thomas (Drunken Monkey). If youre coming suggest you get there early if last night is anything to go by.

All dates for 2004 have now been confirmed (generally 3rd Saturday). We will continue to bring a full range of across-the-board soul music from every genre with an interesting guest DJ line-up of nationally acclaimed DJs.

Thanks to everyone who has supported us over the past 3 years and who have made Broughton what it is today - a major standout soul event in a busy calendar.

The Wings Club has really taken off.
