Some history from the website.

Kingdom Come Forever Records came into existence as of May 2011 and the owner is Lou Barreto. Lou has been around the music business, not only as a writer but as a record producer and promoter in conjunction with another producer, Rod Bumgardner (also a writer). Both of them were the producers for all the songs on the CD album that features Gloria Jones, Jimmy McFarland, and the Tiaras. Lou wrote most of the songs on the CD album, but Rod and Nick Drury were the writers on "You're My Man."

Lou drop out of the music business in February of 1983. Lou said, "the Lord God" spoke to him in February of 1983 at 7pm in his apartment. It was just a few words, "I open and close the doors and I control everything that you are seeking." Lou said, "He flip out in one thousand of a second" and from that day on he became a Believer in Jesus Christ with one purpose, to pursue the will of God to do the will of God. It was the Lord, it was the Lord and there was not a fraction of a doubt. It was the Lord, the un-invited guest that spoke to me. Amazing. It's been twenty eight years since that amazing moment in my life. A miracle. The music era of my life sort of came to a halt from 1983 to 2008.

To continue with the story of Lou's involvement with the music business, Lou, back in the year of 2008, had nothing better to do than to do an internet search on one of his songs and up came several of his songs. To his surprise, the songs were very popular with Northern Soul crowd in the UK. From that moment on Lou became involved with the music industry trying to collect back royalties from record companies that had his songs on many albums and Lou became more involved tracking down record companies that were exploiting his tunes. Eventually Lou became involved with the formation of new record company in 2010. He decided to go back and examine what tapes or vinyl he had on Jimmy McFarland, Gloria Jones and the Tiaras and what he could do to release or license the songs to other companies for distribution.

Lou made the decision to form Kingdom Come Forever Records back in the year 2010. Lou made the decision to create a CD album compilation featuring Gloria Jones, Jimmy McFarland and the Tiaras. Gloria's version of "Gone With The Wind is My Love" was lost and forgotten some years ago. In June of 2010, Lou and Rod Bumgardner found the vinyl recording of Gloria's performance which was recorded at Nashville West Recording studio and when Lou heard it, he said "Wow." He finally, after4 months, made contact with Gloria Jones and got together with Gloria in Los Angeles in November 2010 to sign an agreement to release the song. Gloria was excited about the song as it was being played. Gloria said, "It's a blessing from heaven above." Gloria is still musically active & known in the US, Sierra Leone West Africa, UK, & Germany for "Tainted Love" and many other songs that are listed on YouTube. The Tiaras performed the back up vocals for "Gone With The Wind is My Love." Gloria currently resides in several parts of the world-United States, West Africa and she is involved with the creation of a new school of music to educate the younger generation in Sierra Leone. Gloria is still available for engagements and performance on TV, Radio and stage. Gloria has been a very busy lady and looks great. She also has a son Rolan who is involved with the music business as a performer in the LA area of California and another son who is married.

And Lou discover another song that was lost and forgotten years ago. It was Jimmy McFarland's original "Blowing My Mind To Pieces," with the Tiaras doing the backup vocals. . Jimmy's never released performance is powerful and exciting. Not only did Jimmy record the original 3 minute version, but also a new arrangement which is on the CD. The CD features both the original and new arrangement. Jimmy is very active in the music business as a performer in the San Antonio Texas area. Jimmy has recorded many tunes over the years from "Lonely Lover" to "You Make Me Feel Like A Man." He was also the lead singer for the Los Blues Band and played various instruments. Jimmy is still available for engagements and performance on TV, Radio, and stage.

The Tiaras are also feature on the CD with their performance on "You're My Man" and Love's Made A Connection. Their performance speaks for itself. A blend of soul with a touch of Rhythm and Blues. The Tiaras are from the Orange county area and some reside in Los Angeles. The Tiaras performed all the back up vocals for both Gloria and Jimmy. The song You're My Man" by the Tiaras really sounds like a winner. It has to be heard. Edna Woods of the Tiaras, back in the 80's, also performed with the Ikette and Tina Turner back I n the 80's for several years-touring with the group in the US and the UK.

The songs by Gloria and Jimmy has never been heard by the general public music audience or radio jocks-including the Tiaras song "You're My Man."Kingdom Come Forever Records will attempt to promote these songs as new releases to the general public since the arrangements on these songs can be consider as current with today's sound and message with a twist of Soul, Rhythm & Blues, and Pop. The CD Digital Downloads will be purchased on CD Baby and the Physical CD can be purchased at Kunaki Distributors via Kingdom Come Forever.com website.......

The 'Gone With The Wind...' is really nice but it sounds as though it's by the 'other' Gloria Jones, i.e the sometime member of the Blossoms who recorded as the Victorians, Gloria Melbourne and under lots of other names in the early-mid 60s, rather than she of 'Tainted Love' fame...

Hello Tony, that's interesting but it's the real Gloria Jones. Lou was in touch with her again before he made this track available.

It was the first version of 'Gone With The Wind Is My Love' but at the time Lou couldn't reach an agreement with her manager Ed Cobb so he cut it on Rita Graham instead - and Ed Cobb took Gloria to Capitol Records.

And I assume that's why there isn't another Gloria Jones track for a flip side.

Thanks Chalky, it's basically what I'd already read.

The timing of this has turned out to be interesting because of the new Nicola Conte album featuring 'Love And Revolution' which is an adaptation of 'Gone With The Wind Is My Love'.

By the way, if any radio DJs want an MP3 of Gloria's version of 'Gone With The Wind Is My Love' please get in touch.

The same applies to club DJs who play MP3 files.

Is it just my defective hearing or does anybody else hear an echo of a slowed down rhythm track of Eddie Parkers' . "I'm Gone" when listening to the Tiaras - "Love's made a connection" .... well in parts anyway if one is clutching at straws !!!

Just got the Album from Cdbaby - Quite like the two takes from Jimmy McFarland - On first play, (apart from the intro) I can't tell the difference, but I'm sure that after a few plays the differences will be apparent. There's nearly an extra minute on the Orig version for a start.

I think the Gloria & Tiaras - Gone With The Wind is great.

Thanks Lou

Now then, what about the Instrumental of Blowing My Mind ...

Cheers

Rob,

It was the Jimmy McFarland I meant - One version is much longer - The first verse and chorus have been repeated.

Apart from the two different Intro's, and this first verse loop, the two versions are absolutely identical, so it would appear there is no 60's recording of this after all ... at least not on this CD.

I like this new recording, and the new recording of Gone With The Wind is also good (this is the full version, as per R&T / Kent 45)

Cheers

Mick

I bought the download MP3s. Well pleased. $7.50 for all the songs is more than fairly priced.

And just to point it out: the Gloria Jones take of Gone With The Wind is NOT the stereo extendend version that came out on Joy Boy. Completely different versions.

PS: wouldn't mind an instrumental take of any of the McFarland's versions

i disagree, whilst it may not be a stereo mix, its the same full length version with the extra lyrics that extend the song to almost 2.55

recieved cd today and listened to the tracks several times already, absolutely brilliant and affirmative that these original versions came to light amidst 40 years of what we worshipped as anthems, we learn something new every day!

Never said it's not a full length version. I just said it's not the stereo Rita & Tiaras take. It's by Gloria Jones and in mono.

sorry benj, crossed wires, yes and cant you just tell its mono.....and,.....ITS NOT EVEN "THE" GLORIA JONES,...HOW ABOUT THAT FOR A REVELATION?

No problem.

It's mono though it's some sort of "enhanced" mono giving it a bit of stereo effect. And it's THE Gloria Jones singing!

Anyway, what I didn't know and really surprised me is that Jimmy McFarland is a blue-eyed singer.

had an email from richard searling yesterday, he has been in touch with lou and apparently he told him it wasnt the same gloria jones, i suggested comparing pictures but lou surely wouldnt have made a statement like that if he didnt believe it was true himself, so we have to reserve judgement?

yes mate, im afraid richard must have been having a brain storm and it threw me!...not difficlt these days

despite the deference to go to vinyl, which is understandable right now, i believe its just a matter of time before ady twists lou's arm...preferably by the time of the tower...maximum exposure there, and it will be heavily featured on virtually every internet or radio show you can imagine...for all i know its happening right now...i know for sure kev & richard will be featuring it before the months end

I've listened to the Jimmy McFarland tracks quite a few times, both poor IMO and not a patch on Bob Relf. The intro to one of them forget which as I type doesn't sound part of the rest of the track, sounds like it was added on after, the volume for the intro is louder as well. The Gloria Jones take is very good but I'd like to know when it was done?

.......the Gloria Jones tune "Gone with the wind is my Love" was prior to the Rita version...Rita use the same tracks as the tracks on Gloria......the Tiaras did the backup vocals with Gloria.....Hence, The Gloria 8 track recording is the same track that Rita recorded on....hope that answers your question.....The time frame was the same.....same year, about a month apart.....we had to replace Gloria with Rita within a 4/ 6 week period....a long story about the replacement..................Lou

.........

Both songs, Gloria and Jimmy's, were done in the 60's...Yes, the intro on Jimmy's 3 minute version of Blowing my mind was part of the original arrangement. It is an unusal intro with respect to the rest of the song...except in the ending bridge where Jimmy is sort of speaking and singing with a string arrangement that reflexs the introduction opening...........The Bob Relf version did not appear until the mid or late 70's or 80's....the intro was removed via an edit without my approval from my original tracks.......and it became popular in the UK and I have to give Bob credit for the popularity................................Lou
