Carlton Jumel Smith - This is What Love Looks Like - Timmion Records

Carlton Jumel Smith - This is What Love Looks Like - Timmion Records magazine cover

New 45 from Timmion and it's one that makes an instant impression.

Blurb goes like this...

Prolific soul man Carlton Jumel Smith made a fresh opening into deep vintage soul sounds with his Timmion single debut. Now he's back for more with the dancefloor track "This is What Love Looks Like,ā€ paving the road towards his album, which is dropping on Timmion at the beginning of 2019. Think of classic funky soul with a little bit of Chicago, some Tighten Up guitar and blaring horn melodies, and you get an idea, where this energizing groove is headed.

This Is What Love Looks LikeĀ -Carlton Jumel Smith & Cold Diamond & Mink - Timmion

01. This Is What Love Looks Like! (feat. Cold Diamond & Mink) [04:07]
02. This Is What Love Looks Like! (Instrumental) [04:19]

bit confused by this, I pre-ordered the first press a while ago (the white label) off Bandcamp and that's the one I recieved - no spoken intro on my 45.

However you also get the digital files from Bandcamp, and the digital vocal version does have the spoken intro, so maybe that's the LP version coming later? No idea tbh

Yes I'm confused as yellow and white came out on sameĀ date,, yet the white label is being listed as a reissue on discogs?

What's going on 2 copies both released on same day, one yellow one white,, and Ā the white is classed as reissue? Ā Discogs..

The Yellow is classed as a second press.

I pre-ordered ready for the release and got yellow copies expecting white, so I'm not sure what's going on šŸ˜®

Discogs saying White label is a Test Press so that its availability would be limitedĀ

So the Yellow label is the OfficialĀ  releaseĀ

I would regard them all as official original releases, in years to come no one will care, this track is so good it wil probably get re-issued at some point in the future, what a great time currently for new soul releases

For what its worth I don't see how two different colour labels released at the same time could be regarded differently.

I just liked the white label and wanted one šŸ˜Ŗ

So when buying new releases we now have to worry about gettingĀ pre-order releases, just in case they end up different colourĀ šŸ˜².Ā  POOVO (Pre Order Original Vinyl Only) is the next big thing.......

Not really. The question really was why when on pre-release order and all the advertised copies were shown as white, people were sent a 2nd press (Timmion's own words) of yellow. No biggie for meĀ as I said above, but there was some confusion caused.

The label colour is irrelevant. Ā If from same master they are all first issue. Every popular release has several, indeed many sets of stampers.

Do you all think a million seller is from same set of stampers?Ā

It is quite obvious with many of you lot that enjoying the music is secondary.

Its quite simple to understand really if you read the thread. If something is advertised with a certain picture, but what arrives is not the item in the picture, then people question why. For me its got nothing to do with having a first or second press, OVO or any other bollocks,Ā and has nothing what so ever to do with the artist. Ā I just wanted to understand why I didn't get what I thought IĀ ordered. Call it nonsense if you want but it was a perfectly logical question to ask.

Agreed in that sense.....advertised/received.

Mine arrived yesterday from Juno records - yellow and the type isĀ misprinted for title and artist and makes your eyes hurt when you look at it.

Must be the really rare release worth loadsšŸ˜‚

Just spoken to the folks at Timmion who confirm the 45 does not have the spoken intro. But said they are gonna add it to the next cut (album)So only digital release has the spoken intro at the moment.

they are all from the same stamper, released in same time frame and so it's really a no brainer, of course they are, I don't think anyone would argue unless they are a bit odd šŸ™‚
