Dj Greg Belson European Tour - May - June 2013

So with the Berlin date firmly under the belt, here's the rest of my gigs starting next week, 17th May, and ending up on 30th June at Glastonbury playing a modern soul gospel set to a festival crowd!

Hopefully see some of you out and about, partying with old buddies, and making new friends on the way!

Cheers!

Nice idea Greg, I'm out here in Europe now (Copenhagen) and thinking I'd like to do the same in the states at some point. Get back home to visit old friends and family while touring playing records (and digging too, of course). Good luck with your gigs!

Greg,

Are you sure you're not allowed to slip a few gospel goodies into your set at the Cellar, Oxford on the 17th May ??

I live just outside Oxford and could be tempted to come along if you do.

WHAT sort of cuts will you be playing in one of your R&B sets (can you list a few examples) ?

R&B here means different things to different people !!

Was with Marc in Berlin this weekend and he's buzzing about it too. The mix on the night will be top class.

any chance we can get a recording of a modern / disco gospel set at some point, Greg? id love to hear that

You just need to go to the 'Soul Video Audio Radio' section and click onto a 'Divine Gospel Show' thread ......... Greg posts up a link to his gospel shows on there (he puts them up on Mixcloud).

One wild weekend indeed with the Belsonator. Greg played Family Affair last Saturday and delivered a fantastic set of gospel funk, soul and funk and had the place rocking. His Rev Robert Francis cover up nearly took the roof off!

A great dj and a jolly good chap too. Be sure to check him out at his remaining uk dates. One of the few djs that are genuinely playing something fresh and exciting.

The Masters of Soul gig in Islington last night was just that....some wiley veteran legends of the soul scene in attendance, in what is a great right-sized venue in Satan's Circus. Too many great tunes to mention as all the DJ's spun some stunning stuff. Massive thanks to Leona and Yann for having me play, and great to catch up with Paul finally.....excellent to see you cuttin' some floor shapes, mate! I could have partied much longer into the night, if my cabby hadn't reliably turned up.....still, that'll be next time. Excellent session, so getcha selves down to this happening monthly soul round-up ;)

should this thread be in events and playlists

:P

kev

I thought about adding it to events, but it's multiple dates, and the mods seemed OK to keep it here....and only just put in the one playlist, so should I scratch it here and include in the playlist section? Just wanna keep everyone happy, mate.

Just returned from an awesome extended weekend with the Leeds glitterati that is the That Driving Beat crew.....thanks so much to Azza for letting me share the turntables with some of the scenes most forward thinking DJ's. Barn storming sets from all those on the roster and I was more than honoured to be involved with the relaunch of this top notch night at this excellent new venue.
